Blogger makes the wrong call on Druids
I guess I spoke too soon when I said that Druids were being mature about the Cyclone nerf. Balancedruid of Tichondrius demanded on the public forums that Blizzard reconsider the reduction of Cyclone from thirty to twenty yards. He states that although Resto Druids are very powerful in arenas, this form of crowd control is the most appealing aspect of a Balance Druid for most 5v5 arena teams. This change was notably absent form previous patch 2.4 Public Test Realm Build notes.
Several threads have been started on this topic. At least one was mysteriously deleted within five hours of its creation. Snuffymcmoo of Terokkar has begun a petition to rescind the change. Druids are flocking in protest to the change. I can honestly say that I'm not surprised at expressions of outrage. I was just expecting a little more- They're Druids, not Warlocks after all. I apologize for my earlier statements about Druids rolling with the nerf-hammer.
Players often must make difficult goal-oriented decisions on their characters. Do they want to arena/battleground, raid/instance, or solo grind? Very few specs are viable for all three. As a die-hard Shaman, I feel your pain, Druid friends. It's downright difficult to make Blizzard change their minds when they're set on balance. Just remember, you can always do what I do- roll Resto.

simple solution to all these problems. Kill the abomination that is arena and bury so far down that it never sees the light of day again. From the day arena started WOW has gone down hill. Between the welfare epics and the content screwing with classes in PvE to to supposedly work towards the impossible goal of balancing the area the over all Warcraft experience for those of us who are not the 12 year olds with ego problems that so heavily infest arena and PvP.

Unpossible!

Always a pleasure to see writing turn to clueless commentary I hope for your mothers sake she picks a class you actually know something about before giving her advice, since you clearly know little about druids and less about warlocks if you seem to think a lifetap nerf is no small deal when as people pointed out its a huge adjustment to all aspects of their gear and play. While druids object to the fact the spell hits the other specs which are not doing as well harder than the resto spec.
Nice to see wowinsider turning into wowswhiner.

"You severely kid yourself if you think that members of any given class are more mature than others. All class forums are full of selfish posts demanding more, and druids are no exception to the rule."
This ! =) .. gg

I'm fine with the change, as a resto druid I used cyclone a little too much. Really I think it just forces a little more thinking on your feet.

The post seems very poorly written and put together. It pretty much is saying because druid accesses that this was going to be a tough hit on the balance druids, rather than knee jerking over it immediatly, that they are childish.
I will ignore for the moment the general agreement in the druid community that blizzards targets for druid numbers are a bit dumb, especially with so many pvping to fill hard to get item slots.
I will ignore that the numbers blizzard was quoting, to get their OPness, has been criticized by those who look into those things as not matching what people are seeing.
I might mention that the oh so powered resto spec, is one spec, and its a resto/feral combo spec. Which does not work for anything more than 2v2 and 3v3, because all druids numbers are low for 5v5 which of course gives the best honor.
I might point out that this article could instead have been a hunter in arena evaluation, as their are reporting low numbers in all teams, and any advice wow insider could give them would probally be very welcomed in their current struggle.
I would also point out that the time spent nerfing druids for having high numbers in 2v2, could have been spent buffing protection warriors, all hunters and ferals in arena.
Or for the matter of fact making protection warriors lives a bit easier overall.
Or maybe fixing the broken stealth of rogues at the moment. Hands up who tried to sap something and your stealth broke?
