New Fury of the Sunwell preview page at the main US site

2.4's not out today, but Blizzard threw a nice little consolation prize our way: A new Fury of the Sunwell preview page, complete with a trailer and a very spiffy looking wallpaper featuring Kil'jaedan rising out of the Sunwell while Kael'thas looks on, as well as an in-game cinematic trailer in which Kael'thas tells the story of the destruction of the Sunwell and speaks of his plans to reignite it and summon Kil'jaedan. if you're a bit unclear on the Sunwell Lore, this page explains it succinctly as well.
There's also a list of some of the new features, such as all the new daily quests, accompanied by screenshots. In what might be considered a bit of tease for WotLK, the screenshot for the Arena Tournament features a Warrior wielding the fabled Ashbringer (the corrupted version, but still!). It's also worth noting that we can add another Kralnor cookie to the growing list of them, the screenshot also features everyone's favorite staff-using Warlock.
Blizzard's done a great job with this page, although I have to wonder if this is a harbinger of more PTR time. It seems strange they'd only release such a well done preview page a few scant days before the patch goes live, but we shall see. It's fun to have some new eye candy to keep us occupied until the patch drops.

I found this line in the lore particularly interesting:
" Tragically Kael'thas soon learned that the greatest danger to his people was posed not by the Scourge, but by the Sunwell itself. The corrupted powers of the well still permeated not only the elves, but all that they had built. Given enough time, the vile necromantic energies would kill the elves and spread an incurable poison throughout the surrounding land.
Kael'thas painfully concluded that the Sunwell, the heart of their society, must be destroyed.
And so he executed a plan that would irrevocably change the fate of his people. With the aid of the most powerful remaining magi, accompanied by Lor'themar and a party of volunteer defenders, Kael'thas succeeded in destroying the mystical Sunwell.

Thats what i thought and was show in WC3. What they say never happened.
But i suppose bliz can take liberty's.

Evidently they changed it to Arthas only corrupted it, but the corruption ruined the high elves, so Kael decided to destroy it totally.

And Kael sounds different. Different actor this time? If it is i would have preferred the Azerothian Super Villains version.
And I finally understand how the BEs in Silvermoon (my paladin included) have green eyes before even passing through the dark portal. Evidently the well was corrupted first, giving us the green eyes, *then* it was destroyed. If I read that right.

I think it's interesting that the WoW Website says:
"Now, the journey that began with the arrival of the draenei on Azeroth and the blood elves' inclusion into the Horde is about to come full circle"
Full circle? Does that mean our Outland experiences are coming to a close, and WotLK is on the horizon?
Or am I just stretching things?

Naw, I think you're exactly on the right page. The development for Burning Crusade ends here, and we move on to Northrend from here on out.

No you are right, the Sunwell is supposed to be the end of the TBC storyline.
Then the next epic adventure will be in Northrend!
