Once i made it to 350 I used transmute Primal Earth to Water a lot. It has the day long cooldown, but I was able to buy Primal Earths around 3g and sell the Waters for around 20g. That took me up to 370 and I used Earth to Life to hit 375, also making a profit on each transmute. If you aren't too pressed to level right away, it's an easy way to get a level a day and make some coin at the same time.

Just a note about Transmute Earth --> Water: the recipe requires revered with Sporeggar, which might take a bit of grinding to go.

17g per day isn't bad- that's about the same as I make transmuting primal mights- i would make about 13g doing earth->water on my server.
Everyone should always go with their most profitable transmute though. Earthstorms, skyfires, or mights have a higher initial investment, but it's worth just saving up some cash to buy the mats for them and then doing the transmute- you'll immediately have enough cash for more mats once it sells.
I see people doing free transmutes all the time, and I don't get it- even if you're a transmute master, you're giving up free cash by not using your own mats if the product is worth more than the materials. And there's really no hurry to 375- your transmutes will eventually get you there, and i'm having a hard time thinking of too many potions/elixirs you can't make by not being a max level alchemist.
