Hunter's Helper running beta test

If you're a fan of Gazmik Fizzwidget's addons (including Feed-o-matic, ReagentCost, and Linkerator), you'll be happy to know that he's already jumping on top of patch 2.4, and in fact he's working right now on a beta of one of his most popular addons, Hunter's Helper. You can download the beta over on WoWInterface -- it won't work so well under WoW 2.3, but it's designed to be taken out on the TTR (or the PTR, if that comes back before the patch drops), and tested out.Since it's likely that the patch will drop tomorrow, hopefully Fizzwidget has worked out most of the kinks. But it's awesome to see an addon developer ready to go for a brand new patch -- it's too bad that Blizzard hasn't been more proactive in helping these guys out with distributing their new versions around a big patch. Maybe once the Armory has gotten to a point where it's serving all the needs Blizzard wants it to, they can start working on an official third-party addon site.

That's cool and all, but could the world stop randomly saying that the patch is coming out tomorrow?
It might come out tomorrow. But then again, it "might" have come out last week or the week before. Or next week. Or the week after.

And you *might* turn into a little blue cat with two tails tomorrow. However, it's not very likely. Apply the same principle to this argument and you'll see why the world is "randomly" saying the patch is coming tomorrow.

Yeah, patch is more likely NOT to come out tomorrow. PTR is still up, usually they close it down the weekend before patch. More than likely it's coming out on April fools. =/

Actually, the major new additions in the HH 2.4 beta should work just fine under WoW 2.3 -- the only thing missing is the Options GUI (since that's built on 2.4's new extensible Interface Options window), and most options can still be set from chat commands. (Type '/hh help' for info on those once you've got the addon installed.)

I know it's fun to be iconoclastic and cynical sometimes, but don't blindly lampoon people just because *you* think the patch is coming out at some later date.
Patches have dropped with the PTR up the day before. Whether or not the PTR is up is largely irrelevant.
The reason people keep saying the patch is likely to come out tomorrow is because of historical trends.
Ultimately none of us know, to be sure, but there is at least *some* good reason to believe the patch will go live tomorrow.

I'm surprised [well, not really] that all the comments were regarding the patch drop, and not one person commented on this add-on. Hunter's Helper is a really great tool for hunters, even experienced ones, because most of us can't possibly remember where ALL the pet skills are found in the wild. And even if you have them all trained, the next time a newbie hunter says "hey where do i find bite", you can be the ninja answer springing from the darkness.
Well worth the download for hunters, and like all Fizzwidget's stuff, it's a useful and well-made product. Two thumbs up, and glad to see it'll still be chugging along in 2.4!

Thanks WoWInsider for linking to the beta... but it turned out to be the last day for beta, since 2.4 releases this Tuesday.
