I'm probably a loot whor , but I like loot! I like useful loot though. I roll on anything that's mail and a sidegrade or upgrade to me as a hunter. And none of that pesky shammy stuff either. Nowadays we run kara I'm the only hunter in the group, so I don't feel too bad about trying to get every single piece of hunter loot in that instance, since it's just going to be DE anwyay (and we have 5+ stacks of voids in bank). Anyway our guild also has a 'pass always' group loot system. Not the best, but the people in charge don't want to bother with it. Occassionally it will lead to trouble, such as misclicks or people not understanding the system. It happens, but it sucks when the loot you've waiting *months* for finally drops and somebody takes it as an accident or also wanted it and didn't follow group procedure. Oh well. Maybe tomorrow's kara run will yield me actual upgrades instead of sidegrades. But, yeah, it sucks when you can't improve your character for months. I empathise with pre-TBC 40 mans.
