Have you hit the 2.4 content yet?
Obviously, everyone knows patch 2.4 hit today. You can't turn around without seeing something about it. And, well... if you play WoW, you were probably assaulted with a downloader before you could log in. Basically, 2.4 hit. You know that.
Have you really dug into the content yet, though? I know a couple members of my guild decided they would rather spend the day farming Adamantite and Mana Thistle in the 'old' Burning Crusade content because it was mostly abandoned. While it isn't fresh and exciting, it is certainly making them quite a bit of cash.
Me, personally? I jumped in feet first. As soon as the servers came up I was flying to Quel'Danas and putting together a Magisters' Terrace group. My original intent was to get the new daily quests out of the way first, before everyone got home from school or work or whatever it is they do, but the server wasn't agreeing with me on that. Amusingly, after the mobs on my server were killed, they weren't respawning whatsoever. The server actually stayed up that way for about two hours, devoid of mobs, with hundreds of people standing around on Quel'Danas trying to figure out what was going on.
The instance server was up, so I had a decent amount of luck with that. We downed three of the bosses before the instance server eventually gave up the ghost, and the world server got a restart. Things were much more smooth after that, at least for my server. We didn't get the random crashes that some other servers got, which I'm thankful for. My next attempt at a Terrace run was smooth and easy, and Antiarc walked out with a Phoenix Hatchling.
The daily quests, despite it being amazingly crowded on Quel'Danas, weren't too difficult to complete. It seems the server shifted into a system of "pick a spawn point, make it your own, don't stray from there or you're fair game." Despite being stuck in one or two little areas for getting my mobs, the quests went by fast. The quests back in Outland were effortless, didn't take any time at all. Despite the server being High Population, those quests weren't camped at all. Whether that's because they're nicely spread out or because people were all crowded on Quel'Danas, I have no idea. It worked out well for me, either way.
I haven't had an opportunity to hit the 25-man yet, that'll be tomorrow night. I'm really looking forward to it, I've loved the feel of the Sunwell so far, and the difficulty of the region and all attached to it seems to have hit that sweet spot between "horribly painful/annoying" and "incredibly fun."
I'm curious how other realms are doing as far as the progression of the event. My server already has 30% of the first stage finished at 10 PM CST. That seems pretty fast compared to what the PTR was, but there's a good chance the pacing was accelerated for the live servers. How are you guys doing? Crawling along? Blazing through? About the same as I am?

Our server is at roughly 30% as well, last time I checked.

Well, i did all the dailies, poked around at the new stuff, and whatnot. Me and some friends ventured into the magisters terrace at about 7pm, and got out just now...at 11:30...
The dungeon is really easy up until half way thru, when it gets tough, or maybe it was the grp makeup, either way, we eventually made it to Kael'thas, and for a 5 man, hell even for raids, this is an EPIC fight. Sadly, im not gunna be seeing Sunwell ANY time soon.

I ran some of MrT (best instance abbreviation ever!) with guildies before they ran Kara. We made it to the third boss but didn't beat her. Not enough CC and we kept accidently pulling other mobs. The first two bosses were easy mode though, and I had a lot of fun. I was a little disappointed that you couldn't jump down to the third boss after clearing up to her though, it would be nice to see that added (Yeah I'm that lazy :P), but otherwise a fun instance.

Killed Kael'thas today! Man, that fight was FUN. I'm a pretty good air swimmer.
JLocke Mar 26th 2008 12:16AM
i got some dailies done, didn't get to check out MT though :P

Aside from Omen being almost completely broken and my FPS dropping to less then 15fps (from 40-50 pre patch) I made it to the island and then kinda watched WoW lock up as the FPS dropped to 1.
I'll try later in the week.

Got most of the dailies down but the MrT. was tough. The Kathlas fight was cool and we eventually downed him. We had MrK down to 37% when the group looked like it was going to wipe when the Drania elemental shammy stayed alive. She was able to heal herself and actually knock MrK down to 31% when the rest of the group ran in and finish the job. Thats right the rest of the group wiped, the Drania Shammy stayed alive long enough for the rest of us to run in and finish the job. Best fight ever!

all the new dailies, my usual old dailes, primal mana farming, a full kara clear, and i'm in a MT... MagTer... whatever run right now.
:-)

Did all of the new Sunwell Dailies, and took a stab at MgT (as my server is calling it).
We had 2 wipes because of bad tank pulls, but other than that, we cleared it fully. The Kael'Thas fight is fun. Somebody on the alliance side has already cleared it on Heroic and posted screenshots :O I was able to snag the 20 slot bag that drops there, and the epic gem from killing Kael'thas, aswell as a leather healing chest for my offspec (im a feral druid)
After that, hit up some kara and 6 manned the first boss then logged. Now im here! :D
Thetaxman Mar 26th 2008 2:50AM
yup, got my bag off third mob in there
Talwynn Mar 26th 2008 12:40AM
How do you know how far your server has progressed?
brittwilson Mar 26th 2008 1:34AM
In the main building right as you come from the boats, there are 3 NPCs where you get some quests. If you talk to the one on the far left, you can ask him about your progression.
Khanmora Mar 26th 2008 9:07AM
I wish they had a progression page on the main site like they had for AQ so I can watch the progression when I'm not in game :(
Xioyn Mar 26th 2008 12:56AM
I did the Dailies and was around when cho'gall got the World first kill of Kalecgos
Vestras Mar 26th 2008 1:14AM
Cleaned up on two of my characters tonight. Sadly, no badge bonus drops for me, but in total: 3 Primal Fires, 1 Primal Shadow, half a Mana, 60g, and a pile of greens to shard for arcane dust for each character.
Allindra Mar 26th 2008 2:20AM
I haven't 'hit' it yet... My addons spamming me error messages and me going through the trouble to reinstall them, is the only thing keeping me from doing it....
mitchellangelo86 Mar 26th 2008 1:52AM
nope, no, not me! I'm stuck in limbo. 2.4 officially killed dead my computer's ability to play wow, as now, as soon as log in, within 2 minutes (at MOST) the game hardlocks, kills 3d acceleration, and i'm forced to reboot to try and do anything that uses 3D accelaration. Time to start shopping for a new computer I guess. Been dyin' to try crysis.
Ithelas Mar 26th 2008 2:00AM
Ok, I have a really stupid newbie question (although I'm level 56)...how do I get to Quel'Danas? I've been reading about flight paths from Silvermoon City and Lights Hope Chapel, but I can't catch a flight from either of those places. Of course, I can't swim there, either. Fatigue sets in and, well, you know the rest. Is it because I'm not level 70? I'd like to at least go sightseeing on Quel'Danas, even if I can't quest.
Thanks. :-)
Alex Ziebart Mar 26th 2008 2:02AM
I believe you automatically get the flight path at 65, and can't get there any earlier than that unless summoned.
kickapoo Mar 26th 2008 2:00AM
I did a run of MgT after doing dailies and got the first phoniex hatchling on the server (BWL)
