Top 5 must-dos in Patch 2.4
Patch 2.4 is finally going live, and with all of the new content, it will be pretty overwhelming when you first log on and attempt to decide what you want to do. With new loot, new quests, and new areas to explore, there will be plenty to keep you busy!
05. Regarding your User Interface:
The default UI is changing, so along with updating and reconfiguring add-ons, you should learn more about the changes you're going to need to make.
04. For the explorer:
If you like to be prepared, check out our coverage of the maps for Sunwell Isle. If you'd rather dive right in and be surprised, then check out your own map of the Eastern Kingdoms. The little island at the very top is your new destination! Either way, the easiest way to get there is from the Ironforge (Alliance) or Silvermoon City (Horde) Flightmaster.
For the rest of the countdown, hop through the break!
03: For those addicted to daily quests:
Check out the new world PvP daily quests, one for Halaa and one for Terokkar. Some new daily quests are also popping up around your hometown of Shattrath. In addition, it is important to note that the new Isle will feature daily quests as well as quests you must complete in order to unlock more areas, vendors and quests.
Luckily, we have complete walkthroughs of Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the 4 Phase Sunwell daily quests.
02: For the PvP'ers:
While battlegrounds may be fun, they do prompt this question time and again: "what do I do with my extra tokens?". Well, finally we have our answer. Convert them into honor!
With so many changes coming to Alterac Valley and Warsong Gulch, you might want to queue them up and take them for a test run.
Feeling bored of battlegrounds? Maybe checking out the math behind the new honor gains will provide a fresh incentive.
01: For raiders:
If you are just reaching Karazhan, prepare to make your debut! With no more attunement, you might just find that your guild is ready for the attempt. In fact, the attunements for Hyjal and the Black Temple have also been lifted.
If your guild is ready to tackle the Sunwell, then you're going to have to start on the first three bosses and wait for the timer to expire to tackle the next three.
What do you plan to do as soon as the patch hits?
Patch 2.4 sounds great, but what's in it for you? Find out on our Sunwell Isle page where we list the impact on classes, professions, PvP, Raiders and many other playstyles and interests. I'll probably be heading to Sunwell to look around, went the other day but I went to look at the cheapo-tastic beginners PvP set. Tried most of it on via the PTR a few days ago (missing the shoulders I think - need 1 more rep from Bot/Arc). The set looks cool, gives me about 100 less +spell and I think about 50 less int, but it gives me slightly more stam and about 120 resli. Not amazing I know but its better than nothing, have to see how well I perform with both, but its not expensive so if its not, it just looks nice, another set of clothes for my wardrobe! ;)

Excelent, tomorrow I will be up at 10 Am waiting for it to go live.
Hopefully there won't be too much lag, going to be doing all 25 quests, grab a guild run into the new 5 man (anyone know if its possible to unlock heroic within the first day?) and then get back to the mage I have been raising (Yes I'm sad enough to raise another char just for more gold grinding with sunwell)

Spiritofire Mar 25th 2008 7:57AM
Heroic mode is unlocked after you completed a quest to get to an orb in the instance in non heroic. very easy you could even ask to come in a clear instance someone has already done.

Well, speaking as someone who has not got a level 70 character, this patch means nothing aside from the inclusion of more stuff I won't probably ever get to see.
If there are any changes or improvements at lower levels, no one has covered it (that I've seen), so the day after patch day is going to be like the day before, but with more frequent disconnects, I would imagine. Which is probably the case for a significant percentage of the playing population...
Arya Mar 25th 2008 8:09AM
There are plenty of things for a lower level character to do, in fact, just about everything should be new to you.
jared Mar 25th 2008 12:19PM
If you're so concerned about never being able to see any lvl 70 content, why are you posting on wowinsider instead of leveling your character?
Lenny Mar 25th 2008 8:04AM
I can't wait to see how the un-soulbound nethers and vorticies effect the market. Also how void shattering will help out my shortage of LPS
Kees Mar 25th 2008 8:26AM
SSO exalted in day 1 should be doable... I'm going for it ! (and the expertise gear, ready to spend 450 badges !)
Dachande Mar 25th 2008 8:27AM
As a Prot Pally, I look forward to farming (or hopefully only having to do it once) Kael'Thas to get that new mace. I'm glad Blizzard has added another Tankadin weapon, but it still feels rather under-represented.
(here's the mace for any other Prot Pallies who found about it kinda late, like I did: http://www.wowhead.com/?item=34611 )
Dachande Mar 25th 2008 8:44AM
*To clarify, I didn't mean this weapon was "under-represented," but rather the selection and availability of Pally tanking weapons is under-represented. I'll be really happy to get this new mace. :)
Frat Mar 26th 2008 12:12AM
Thats cuz pallies are healers.
Kuroyume Mar 25th 2008 8:27AM
i managed to get my hands on a nether yesterday... will see how well it sells today....
