Undocumented changes so far in patch 2.4
Now we're to my favorite part of a new patch -- sussing out the undocumented changes. Everyone's really known about the patch notes for months, but it seems like every time Blizzard releases an update, there are always plenty of undocumented changes that don't quite make it in.WorldofWar.net has a good set of changes so far: Troll offhands are small, Gruul's Lair's and Kara's reset display is off, and Shamans' Mental Quickness talent doesn't seem to be working. A few people have already noticed that there is no repair character on the Isle of Quel'danas yet, but that's only because the daily quests haven't moved forward yet -- with a bigger foothold, the Shattered Sun should be able to bring in a blacksmith or two.
Void Reaver seems to have been buffed a bit, the Shaman clearcasting ding is bugged, and I've heard that the Blood Elf mounts (a.k.a. Chocobos) will now squawk on demand (though I'm not sure that's new). Seen any other undocumented changes on the realms yet?

As well as the shaman Clearcast ding being bugged, my Druid's Omen of Clarity proc is silent for some reason.

I've noticed Qual'danas lags to no end, but I guess that's to be expected.

Anyone else suddenly notice Enchant glow effects on the Character Selection Screen? Is that new or have I just been very unobservant?

well weapons USED to always glow with enchants at character selection. this was taken out with 2.3 i believe, but i guess it was put back in?

the fel cannons in BEM seem to have become retarded... i don't even have to juke anymore, they just miss, and fire less frequently.
frostbolts appear to fly across the screen faster - it's slightly unnerving. i thought at first that i was imagining things, but then a couple of other mages in the guild observed the same thing independently. could still be our collective imagination, i suppose...
some of the mobs in netherstorm seem to have had their HP tuned down. i'm not 100% sure, but i don't remember 2-shotting the mobs in question (which i won't name because it's my new favorite farming spot) before the patch.

I wouldn't call the VR change a "buff" but a change in the mechanics of the fight; previously, VR would change targets (which would allow DBM to warn who was getting orb'd) when tossing out his arcane orbs. Now he is not only NOT changing targets but he is sometimes launching more than one orb at a time at the same place, some orbs are coming up through the ground, and last but not least there are invisible orbs.

How are invisible orbs a "mechanic"? The entire point of the fight is for the entire raid to avoid incoming damage. If the orbs aren't visible, it's not a mechanic, it's a bug.

I think the drop rate for motes of water has been nerfed :( I farmed 200 Eels tonight and only had 4 motes. It should have been over 30 at least.

I've noticed the nerf on the mote drop rate also. Water in Skettis and air in SMV both seemed to have very crappy drop rates last night.

The new sound also plays at full volume when cast even when the listener is standing quite some distance away. This was noticed by both me and a friend of mine yesterday while studying a shadow priest stealing our kills in blade's edge. ;)
Speaking of sound - or rather the lack of it this time: swift tiger mounts are back to doing silent roars when stationary and pressing the jump key. Not sure about other mounts, haven't tested any yet. Sucks.
