The point about the bombing runs being more friendly to players with non-epic flyers is a good one. It's always struck me as a bit weird that the best way to make money for your epic flyer.... is daily quests that are best done on an epic flyer. Once the portal from Shattrath actually opens, this area can be a bit of an equalizer since no one can zip around at 380% speed. Intercepting the mana cells remains my least favorite daily of the patch because of mana cell ninjas. The only way for any other player to be fighting a mana wyrm is for them to be on this quest, so there can be absolutely no ambiguity that the person standing in combat on top of a mana cell needs it for their quest. That won't stop unscrupulous people from running in and looting the results of other peoples' hard work, which is especially frustrating when you're a low DPS class/spec and can just tell that someone is going to come loot your mana cell before you win the fight. Add in the random odds of the phase device taking a while to drop and I won't do this quest on my pally anymore, even though that's the character I really want the badges for.

See, this is what bubble is for... I've heard amusing stories to this effect, something along the lines of a warrior tagging lots of mobs and dragging them to an AoEing prot pally *evil grin*. I assume you can loot while immune, if not, at least they can't.
