Honestly, I have never seen the Bloodelves as "gay". As someone said, they have more of an "anime bishounen/prettyboy" look to me. I have four different bloodelve characters, they are my favorite race on the horde side. I just like how they look compared to the other races. When you listen to what they say and their culture themselves, they carry themselves with a self-absorbed, vain attitude. Their city is a large example of this. They are using arcane energy to power the many sites of the city, not because they need to, but because they love how it looks. It's a "rich snob" attitude in a way. The joke referenced doesnt hint at being gay, but instead is meant to stab at the female races of the horde. They do, in a way, see themselves as better than the others, as their jokes target the undead alot, make a stab at the tauren.

It's all in your minds :P
You see them as gay, well, there ya go. You think that, not anyone else.
