Well, gay or not, belfs are flaming queens. And yes, straight men can be flaming queens. However, I do like to argue that they really are gay. Back around xmas you could find two MALE belfs under the mistletoe in one of Silvermoon's inns :)Besides, is it really that wrong to name your belfadin Flamingjustice? As for homophobia in game, I have not encountered it myself. I've seen plenty of children use the words "gay" and "fag" as insults, but that doesn't imply homophobia any more than "n*gger" implies racism these days. I've lived in the south, and while the true racists throw that word around, so do a lot of other people, including many black people themselves. These days it's just an insult, not a connotation of bigoted hatred.I'm not trying to justify use of any of those words, of course, just saying the don't hold the meaning they used to. I for one have found that if you throw it back in their faces, they quickly shut up and usually get all apologetic. Plus it's damn fun. Some examples that have happened to me:Working in the wal*mart jewelry dept:Customer: "Don't you think that looks gay?"Me: "You're asking the wrong person that question"A co-worker: "What is that your boooyfriiiend?"Me: "Yes, actually"Best part? Both happened right in front of my boss, and both times my boss already knew (different jobs).
