How many OTHER outfits do you have?
Fellow blogger Adam Holisky covered the vast myriad of outfits that raiders and hybrids need to do their jobs recently, and it got me to thinking. I certainly know how that goes, as a feral druid, I carry 3 and half outfits on me at all times, and I still occasionally find a spare piece of Molten Core fire resistance gear I forgot to destroy when the expansion hit. But there's other outfits I have too.
My Warlock still keeps around his Silver-thread gear, because It looks pretty spiffy. My Hunter has a full set of Defias leather, because black leather is sort of an awesome look. My Druid has his old Tier 1 and Tier 2 sets because they make him look like a proper Archdruid for Roleplay events. I have Winter Clothing, Lunar Festival dresses and suits, Lovely Red Dresses, even an Easter Dress scattered about among my characters. Some of my 70s have Grayson's Torch keeping a spot in their bank just in case I ever need to join an angry mob. My Shaman still keeps his Stillpine Defender around because it's the perfect Witch Doctor shield. Even if he is a Draenei rather than a Troll. I mean, I don't even wear have this stuff more than once every 2 months, but I can't bring myself to throw it away! It looks too cool.
So as much as I sometimes complain about bank space, I have to admit that some of the fault is mine. Sometimes I can't get rid of things even when they have no direct gameplay value. You will never make me throw away my Sang'thraze, never never never!
So what about you? Do you have outfits or quest items or other things you just refuse to throw away, be it for looks or sentimental value? If you have full outfits like me, do you ever actually get to wear them?

http://www.wowhead.com/?item=13475 and http://www.wowhead.com/?item=11869 are never getting thrown out of my bank.
Both are/were wedding rings and both have rich and sad back stories to them

Those are both great quests, I agree. I vendored my rings, but I felt slightly guilty while doing so.

My mage has an entire 16 slot bag in the bank with nothing but shirts. Every color you can imagine. Talk about useless! But I cannot part with them!!! You never know if you're going to need a white shirt or a grey shirt or a purple shirt... LOL Another thing I kept is on my hunter, my husband's JC made an aquamarine ring of agility that my hunter wore for 35 levels... and I keep it for sentimental reasons now :)

I dont have the heart to destroy my old fire resist ring and my first set of pvp blues

I too love the silver-thread armor, and I wish that Blizzard would implement a social outfit like Anarchy Online recently did.
Be so nice to not be wasting so much bagspace.

I have only two sets: PvP and PvE. Full set of S1 (yes, welfare epic style) and a bunch of random purples and blues to give myself better raiding stats when i hit that part of the game.
I always meant to find gear that just looked good on my tune just for the hell of it, but I always end up selling it for gold to get useful gear.
Also, I seems lately to accumulate trinkets faster than anything, and keep them all cause they each have their place.

I have about 10 different variations of gear..
And i'm a rogue o_0

I keep a DPS set, a tank set (YOU'LL NEVER GET ME IN HEALER GEAR IN THIS LIFETIME), and a very simple RP set.
And yet, bags always seem so stuffed.

My issue is not necessarily armor, but my weapons. My warrior is only 43, but he has a 10slot bag ful of shields and weapons that look sick! I cant wait til I hit 70, mostly cause my guild is talking about helping me get some of the legendary and epic weapons that are from pre-BC. And I already know of some of the gear that I will be buying with BOJ's the first second I can! Part of me dreads whats to come, the other part of me cant wait!

Ahh i have a bunch of old sentimental and interesting items in my bank.
There's my beloved Sul'thraze the lasher, the sweet two-handed epic, and the first one i ever got!
I have Linken's sword and boomerang still, along with the photograph from the quest chain.
I have an outfit comprised of grey and white items that just look nice on my Belfadin.
Scourgebane, my old friend, i could never put him in the bank, or sell him, so he stays in my bag, and everytime i go up against a demon/undead boss, ill switch it on and put its awesome white-glowing buff on my weapon, sure 150ap isnt exactly amazing considering how limited in use it is, but that baby lasted me to seventy.
Hellblast Mar 30th 2008 5:09PM
i dont have much stuff that is sentimental for me. but the above post reminded me of my sulthraze. it wasnt my first epic but it looked awesome and was so hard to get. i got the first sword off a random run, and then i had to ay a 70 friend to help me farm the other sword(luckily it was the one that drops off the first boss, not the last boss). i was happy that i had this badass sword and that not a lot of people have it.
cactusham Mar 30th 2008 6:39PM
I definitely still have my Sul'Thraze -- first epic I ever got at level 50 waaaaaay back when 60 was the cap. What a bad ass sword

As a warrior tank I keep track of multiple sets. Different combinations of 62 items form the following gear sets:
- progression tanking set
- threat tanking set
- trash tanking set
- Hydross nature resistance set
- AV tank set
- WSG / EotS flag carrier set
- prot PvP set
- dps set
- solo set

i only keep items required for quests, such as mallet of ZF or the mara scepter, not outlevelled gear. quest items you will need, cos you will be asked to run some lowbie instance every now and then to help out a guildie or your own alts.
unless the gear has useful/fun attributes. like the shadowmoon spectacles/helm, mirren drinking hat or the romance goggles.

Some of us just like the different outfit choices and like to play around with it. I have a friend in game, who we don't quest or raid together, but whenever we get a new outfit, we show each other. We each have banks stuffed with outfits....LOL. A girl can't wear Plate Armor all of the time, even if it is epic.
Ishtar Mar 31st 2008 3:32AM
My banks are full of stuff that I just cant seem to throw away and particularly on my lvl 70 Hunter. These include:
- PVP set, starting to put one together and usually keep it in the bank as I tend to wear stuff I find better for grinding.
- The Defias set collected for a solo RP task, unseen by others but used and kept for the look.
- The flash looking clothes that he wears in cities, especially when he is trading for the guild.
- Fishing gear (Hat, enchanted gloves and boots) and kept Nat Pagles Extreme Rod for sentimental reasons even thought he now has the Arcanite Rod.
- Numerous old quest rewards for the look of the items that he may use for RP sometime (lantern, stick of dynamite, etc)
- 2 18 slot bags full of old weapons and armour, kept for the look or sentimental value (Archaic Defender given to him as a gift and had enchanted with demonslying for RP reasons, Various weapons used for so long that loath to get rid of them)
I tend to keep things for the look of them and pray for the day we get a wardrobe where we can keep some things like this. To give an idea how bad things have got, I have two bank alts that I send gray items too. One has nothing but clothes, the other weapons and items that cant be held but have an RP use. Want a spade or pitchfork, I have one. How about a pocket watch or a vial of tears. Yep, here. And every day I seem to get something new and have to work out where to put it.

I have kept my Staff of Dominance, I was so pleased when I got it.
