I'm not sure about this one. I've played quite a few of those MMOs with advanced character creation schemes and I usually end up letting the game randomize the facial features for me, only chosing things like hair style, eye colour and such myself.
I actually prefer Blizzards approach, except for one little thing, even though I ignore all the advanced abilities by randomizing noone will ever look like my character does in eve-online.
So really, the best thing would be a mix in betwen.
