Addon Spotlight: HighRoller
I usally don't say much about this addon, but because of our format change, I feel like I can finally share this gem. Many of you will surely call me many bad things for profiling this addon, but I must share it now that we've officially become HKO Insider. I really love this addon and will endorse it as a game-changing mod that gives you a serious advantage when rolling for loot. I wouldn't dare do this before, but I want to share the power of advanced algorithms and computer science with all of you who have been missing out on loot rolls. I'm telling you, HighRoller is your friend!Cairenn over at WoWInterface.com originally tipped me off to this a few days ago, which is why I've shown so much love to their site. Think of me what you will, but wouldn't you want to help those who gave you the keys to the castle? The folks over at MMO-Champion are going nuts over this one. Read on, my friends, and take a ride on the phat lootz train!
I'm not going to steal any thunder from the developer, so I'll go ahead and quote the WoWInterface page:
"This AddOn uses an advanced algorithm to time your roll requests to the server in order to increase your average roll value.
Note that the addon is rather large due to the advanced algorithm. It must take into account things such as Name, Race, Class, guild name, and position. I have done everything I can to make the addon as fast an efficient as possible (I use both Ace2 and Rock so that its twice as fast!)
I'm not sure if this addon is completely legal (though they say anything doable in the default UI is), so download it quickly before its taken down!
Also, this AddOn will not work on Macs due to several differences in the way system time works (sorry!)
Note: Due to initial calculations, you may be locked out of your UI for a bit the first time you roll after installing the AddOn"
The MMO-Champion team posted these instructions to configure HighRoller to gather information from the server and get your rolls sky high:
1. Download and extract the mod in your usual "World of Warcraft/Interface/Addons/" directory.
2. Enter the game and calibrate the mod by doing the following :
- /random 100 (5 times)
- /random 200 (5 times)
- /random 1000 (10 times)
3.This should be enough to detect everything needed on the server, if your average /random 100 value is below 96 just do a few more /random 1000."
Granted, I have to run World of Warcraft on a Windows emulator on my Mac, but it is a small price to pay. Keep in mind that lots of players will be using this, but you can too! Fight fire with fire, isn't that what they say? Gone are your days of watching your epics go to someone for an off-spec set! This should keep you going until the much anticipated release of Hello Kitty Online.
As long as I can get away with leaking my secret WoW hacks here at HKO Insider, I will. Until then, keep checking back for more secrets from the dark side of Computer Science, and all of your Hello Kitty Online news! Dismissed!

Teza posted this on Worldofraids this morning as well, so I expect we'll be seeing much discussion of it sometime soon on the Blizz forums with multiple top WoW news sites having a write up on it ^.^

I'm glad to see a WoW joke, because I'm already tired of the HKO format. I mean, come on. I've got an addiction, and it's Tuesday, which means my only choice is to read about what I want to be doing. :p

Alright....got me. Was on the way to curse.com thinking "blizz is gonna ban this addon" then I read the end of the article and ranwitscizzorz response.
jappaex Apr 1st 2008 11:36AM
problem is... everyone is now gonna have it, yay for 99,98,100,100,99 rolls for my party! :D

I cheated and read the lua first, even though it told me not too! xD
Would have been funny if it was in the latest OMEN, so randomly on April 1st anyone who /roll'ed would get "the supprise"......though mass wipes would follow!
Charlie Apr 1st 2008 12:33PM
Lol, so what does it actually do? Is it a rick'rolled thing?
And i was kinda hoping for commentary on here for the "new" bard class. Omg, if that thing was real. How awsome would that be..
Guitar Hero + Wow = *drool*

HA HA HA! Okay, you've had your laugh by putting in some old WoW joke addon here, but seriously guys, we could be reading about Hello Kitty's UI and maybe any addons they have planned.... basically, out with the old, in with the HKO!
