US server Proudmoore is the first to hit Phase 3 of the Shattered Sun Offensive
Phase 3 is now upon us! According to us.gorgonnash.info, Proudmoore has now just barely hit the Armory phase of the Shattered Sun Offensive. As of 9:07pm PDT, April 2nd, Cenarius is behind them at 95%, with Zul'jin behind them at 90%. Congratulations, Proudmoore.
Of course, the biggest thing this means is that they've unlocked the quest Making Ready, which will allow them to eventually unlock the new Badge of Justice loot. Good luck to them, and may the unlocking go fast! For everyone who needs to catch up to Proudmoore, be sure to check out our phase 1 and phase 2 quest walkthroughs. For all you Proudmoore inhabitants, and all the rest of you raring to go, be sure to check out our phase 3 walkthroughs for all the information you'll need to forge ahead with the offensive, and look out for the Phase 4 walkthroughs coming soon from Alex.

Congratulations to Proudmoore (US)!
We're currently ranking in at 18, so we've got to move, move, move!

Wowsers. Wasn't it estimated that an average server would take 3-4 weeks to hit phase three?
Gtz Proudmoore.
Thandorin Apr 3rd 2008 10:21AM
Yes, the key word here being "average".
Sylthan Apr 3rd 2008 9:44AM
Gratz, but they are Carebear.
The real news will be when Blackrock attains it.

Have to agree with the slight-PvE trolling here. Let me when a PvP server progresses to phase 3 on the Isle of Gankathon, and I'll be more impressed.
Fraufrau Apr 3rd 2008 11:26AM
agreed... PvE people would be shocked and horrified at the sight of IoQD on PvP servers... more skeletons than players and large raid groups mowing through and and all member of the opposition at will.
Good fun :)

its funny too on tuesday they were damn near the first server back up right away where as in I had to wait hours before mine came back up mines down during the week theres is still up if we could play as much as them we would be there too......besides proudmoore is a wimpy ass server full of no skill pve players....Let us know when the first real realm hits phase 3
patrick Apr 3rd 2008 10:18AM
We didn't come up for more than 15 minutes until 4 or 5 server time. Nice try.
Fizzl Apr 3rd 2008 10:03AM
We are only at about 40% on EU-Daggerspine :(
Sunwell is burning the repair bots at the moment.

Ummm...the SSO is about the factions working together. PvP realms suck at that. I am proud to be on proudmoore and working towards the same goal as the Horde players.
patrick Apr 3rd 2008 10:17AM
SSO is a pve goal, the reason you pvp realms aren't ahead is because you're too busy ganking everyone pure and simple. Leave pve goals to the pros and go gank lowbies in stv. Go Proudmoore!
GopherFender Apr 3rd 2008 10:24AM
Amen to that, this whole patch is about rival factions working together against a common enemy. If gimps on PvP realms can't grasp that simple concept, and want to fight each other more than completing a serverwide, CROSSFACTION goal, then they should expect to take forever, and quit QQing with 'Oh everythings more hardcore on PvP'.
You've learnt to gank, now learn to play.

Working together on a PvE server is meaningless. There is no other option. You aren't going to turn your PvP flag on during your dailies, and if you do, very few people will take advantage of it. It's unlikely that a group of 5 people could make a daily difficult for half the server to complete. You're not making the decision to work together. You're more active as a whole or more populous or both. Perhaps it's a combination of these things and an actual push to open it before any other server.
The argument that it is harder or more meaningful on a PvP server is pretty much true in my opinion. The social dynamic of a PvP realm makes all the world quests more difficult. You're never sure if the guy you left alone is going to finish drinking, turn around and kill you. Some PvP is not ganking: it's the perception that the world is kill first or be killed. You just can't trust the opposing faction, and you can't communicate with them.
Working together on a PvP realm is a collective action issue. Your "truce" is forced by game mechanics.
Your counter-explanation that working together is more consistent with the plot is just irrelevant. I don't think that a PvP server is more accurate to the storyline, but that has nothing to do with the difficulty of unlocking the badge vendor.
From personal experience, yes, I've not done as many quests as I otherwise would have, because of the added time to do my quests from PvP.
And your depiction of PvP servers as gank festivals with idiots may make you feel better, but PvP servers ARE more hardcore-even for PvE. 5/5 guilds to get the first Illidan kill were from PvP servers.

"SSO is about the factions working together. PvP realms suck at that."
"Leave pve goals to the pros"
"this whole patch is about rival factions working together against a common enemy. If gimps on PvP realms can't grasp that simple concept..."
yeah, pvp realms suck at working together when a patch creates a common goal, lolz... you carebear guys are so good at it!!! how do you do it?? how do you decide "im going to work with the other faction and not attack their players so we can get to the next phase"??? MUST BE A HARD CHOICE
...lolwut

Well I actually did level to 70 on a pvp server with a low pop and it and 3 horde to 1 ally ration as an ally. I know full well the gank fest that occurs and to make it worse after I got to 70, no one wanted to group for anything and I couldn't even get geared for pve. Part of this was no doubt due to the populations size, but though I'm not saying I'd never go back to a pvp server, I find the opportunities are greater on a pve one for pve progression. I still enjoy bg's and pvp but when I choose to. Ganking is what it is and is a fact of life on a pvp server. I'm not saying I never did it, but at the end of the day you have to decide what you want to spend your time doing. I didn't want to spend tons of money on tailoring and invest time in pve content to be ganked in the real world trying to complete pve objective. I didn't want to have to run bg's the first month just to get pvp 70 gear. That being said I have it all now and wear it sometime when questing just b/c of the stamina. My first toon being leveled on a pvp server was probably the wrong choice, lol, and I'm quite happy with my pve server. It's a matter of personal choice. Do what you like, but expect to spend a lot longer doing it on a pvp server.

Well good ol pvp server Arthas is doing pretty well for itself, were goin on a strong 66% last time I checked ^.^ The only problem I've noticed so far with the horde is that I sometimes lag and instead of right clicking on a sunwell npc, I end up hitting a horde and get killed >.< lol
Lysy Apr 3rd 2008 10:40AM
Congrats on having an overpopulated server and Australians to close the emptiness overnight when the rest of us are normally sleeping. o.O
mcclary Apr 3rd 2008 10:45AM
My server (Ysondre) is currently in 215th place... I smell a comeback though.
Lookout Proudmoore!

Good times.
