Move in the flame wreath, and other fun bits of advice
I really don't know why, but lately my friends and I are trying to get each other to do something stupid with content we've already mastered. Last night I found myself talking to a good friend of mine and the conversation went something like this:Me: "I'm bored. What are you up to?"
Her: "Aran."
Me: "Remember to move during the flame wreath."
Her: "And stand in the blizzard, right?"
Me: "Yeah, so you're cold when the flame wreath hits you."
Now obviously this is the exact opposite of what you want to do. But the sheer absurdity of it makes me laugh. I mean, who among us hasn't seen flame wreath and thought, "Hey, it'd be really funny if I moved right now. Everyone would probably want to kill me... but still, it'd be a great Leroy moment."
I don't think I'm alone in this. I've heard other people joke about it as well. That makes me feel good; proves that while I'm a geek, at least I have some company. But what I really want to know is what you all think about this. So here's what I want. Leave a comment with a piece of absurd advice that only WoW folks would understand.
Then, next weekend I'll pick the top five or so and we can all vote for the most absurd piece of WoW advice. No prize for the winner or anything like that, just bragging rights.
So tell us all - what is some of the most absurd and funny advice you can think of?

Roll Alliance if you would like to play with a more mature crowd, and Horde if you would prefer welcoming people who don't care about skill level.

neither side wins that argument, having played both sides myself i notice no difference in maturity between the two

I rerolled alliance on a carebear server this weekend. I swear, the oldest person I grouped with was 13. I'm afraid.

My guild leader and I both contend we moved out of flame wreath right after we had killed Aran. I bubbled and everyone else died. ahhh.... good times.

When playing EotS, make sure you ALWAYS go for the flag first.

In AB, for the love of christ guard the ROADS! These key travel points need to be secured for victory. Plus the flags cause an honor penalty so stay away.

Also, remember to cap snowfall in AV!

Be sure and sheep any mob who is low on health...we can kill them, later.
Don't worry about drawing boss aggro...you can ice block, and the tank can get him back.
Stand next to the warlock, when you draw boss aggro. (This is actually a valid one...if you're a mage.)

This post reminded me of a raid leader that couldn't pronounce/read nearly any of Kara's bosses' moves.
Flame Wreath she pronounced "Flame Wealth"
Garotte she called "Garoshe"
and Enfeeble was "Enfeebee"
That stuff really messed with my head.

In Shadow Lab the other night one of my group members on Vent kept pronouncing "brazier" like "brassiere." I was laughing so hard I could hardly concentrate on the strat he was discussing.

lol enfeebee. I know someone who does that stuff too.
Oh, and remember everyone: when fighting Gruul, try to stand near as many people as possible for the shatter. That way the shaman can chain heal rather than heal everyone individually, thereby saving a ton of mana over the course of the fight. In fact the best way to do it is to stand next to the tank so you can both be chain healed at the same time!

Threat is an important stat in World of Warcraft. You want to get as much threat as possible no matter what class you are. Especially healers. Tanks don't need as much as the DPS, since they wear plate.
Arokai Apr 6th 2008 9:41AM
Remember to BoP your main tank. You might save his life.
Rogues, stay at the top of the threat meter. The higher you are the better player you are. Remember to always pull off the tank, you'll have a higher chance of surviving.
Laukidh Apr 7th 2008 2:23AM
I secretly plot to BoP the tank when a group is going badly. Haven't done it yet, though...

When Kelidan the Breaker yells to come closer...
do it.

When it comes to Illidan, we are all prepared.

When in a raid, it's always funny to pretend your Leroy Jenkins, and it's even funnier if you actually pull the boss. Then it's as if your the REAL Leroy.
Im glad to see that people are trying to find more ways to screw up than just re-using the Leroy Jenkins joke, which is a tad old by this point. I was in a raid the other day and this one pugged member just kept screaming that and jokingly running towards the boss. By the 5th time (not joking here) a raid warning popped up. "If ANYONE makes another Leroy Joke, you will be KICKED from the raid immediately". This shut him up.
