One Boss Leaves: Illidan vs C'Thun wrap up

While some readers voted based on powers available to each opponent ("shear ftw!", "no one survives the eye beam of death!"), others cast their lot based on lore ("c'thun is an old god and undefeatable", "illidan is clever and prepared"). Whatever the reason, it was clear from the voting results seen below that C'Thun was not prepared.

Up next, the final battle of the series. The end boss of pre-2.4 Burning Crusade, Illidan Stormrage vs the end boss of pre-BC WoW, Kel'thuzad. Which boss will leave the arena alive? Which boss will reign supreme? Which boss will be sharding his purplez for greenz when the Wrath expansion launches? Cast your vote in the final installment of Two Bosses Enter!

My vote is for Illidan, I think he's the baddest boss we've seen yet.

I think the final four just go to prove that the majority of voters are, as predicted thinking.
"Drops better loot, is higher up the raid progress, is stronger".
A few matches have gone the other way due to obvious outweighing abilities but i think it was inevitable that the "stronger" boss will just win because the larger consensus of readers is just going to vote without reading.
Shame, but there ya go.

There you go Sam
tell the public how dumb we are...

Generally, higher bosses simply have more, and stronger abilities. Makes sense that they're winning.

Then why did Mother Shahraz get killed in the first round? Archimonde in Round 2? The votes aren't going strictly by where the bosses are in raid progression.
Do you think it's just a random choice that Illidan was chosen to be the last boss of Black Temple? C'Thun AQ40? No, Blizzard puts their best and most interesting characters in these key spots. So of course these characters are going to well in a poll.

More like Illidan happens to be the only boss with a move that automatically reduces health by a % other than 100. For whatever reason, the person in charge allowed Shear despite it being grossly overpowered for something like this, and so Illidan has been running away with the whole tournament. If you took shear out just like the 1 hit kill moves, Illidan doesn't make the finals.

wow what a shock
no we could have seen this coming since you first came up with this idea.
why both even having the last fight you have made it very very very clear from the beginning you want Illidain to win.

Kel'thuzad > all.
He's a Lich King after all, and in most fantasy worlds they are invincible. Soooooooooooooooo... my vote is on him.
(Lets forget the fact that he can be killed with like 5-10 lvl 70's running around for fun... the Boss vs Boss fights have all been more about lore than the game anyways :P)

You need 25+ 70's to get to, nevermind kill, Kel'Thuzad.
Genoce Apr 21st 2008 10:18AM
I actually noticed that after i posted it, as you need 10+ for even the Dragons of nightmare (Taerar etc)... just didn't bother to correct it =D
