More migrations for Europe
It seems like there have been free character migrations for Europe constantly for the past few months. Well, this week is no different. Thundgot announced the following free moves, available from today, April 9th, to next Wednesday, April 15th, all for PvP realms (I think):- From: Frostmane, Grim Batol, Magtheridon, Twilight's Hammer
- To: Bladefist, Dragonmaw, Spinebreaker
- From: Molten Core
- To: Stonemaul

"Out of curiosity, European readers: what countries are you in?"
Sounds like you've always wanted to ask this question, but couldn't do so for some reason or other.
Happily living in Ireland on Doomhammer EU.
For whatever it's worth Warsong EU is the unofficial Russian server, until they get their own servers. Sorry, just had to /whine. The constant cyriliic in my battlegroups chat just reached boiling point today.

Well, the real reason I asked the question is that in a future post I want to put a poll asking where our readers are from, and so I need to know what European countries are well-represented so I know which ones to put as options (instead of "other European country"). Can't really put them all, there's too many.

That brings back fond memories of listening to Russian Border Guards chatting one another up via radio at 3 AM. I learned more about how to cuss in Russian in one evening than in months of studying Russian in language school.

warsong, stonemaul, molten core and shadowmoon are heavily populated by russians
Minnow Apr 9th 2008 2:33PM
Denmark!! Happily on Shadowsong EU :) And I've had the experience that Ravencrest is populated by a lot of scandinavians ;) Correct me if I'm wrong.

the Netherlands.
Defias Brotherhood EU.
And those 2 realms (Molten Core and Stonemaul) are more like Russian realms anyway

I'd be fascinated to see the results of this poll. I'm in England (on Darkmoon Faire EU) but always love meeting people from other countries - the furthest afield so far being a guildie in Isreal! Most of my best guild friends are Italian (who shame me with their excellent English).
Picking up on the comments on Molten Core EU being mostly Russian speaking it would also be interesting if other realms are unofficially favoured by specific nations...

I have a guildie from South Africa, even. And there's one from Egypt. Fortunately neither are tanks, so no lag-wipes... yet.
Majority of European players, based on my experiences on playing on Doomhammer and Bloodhoof, are from the UK (mostly England; yet to play with a Scot), Denmark, Sweden, and the Netherlands.
Plenty of other Nationalities, of course, but on my servers, those countries are the ones I know more than 10 people are from (from each country).

Sweden, on Shattered Hand-eu.

Jolly old...Austria.
Playing on Aldor and Dethecus. Most people playing are either German or Austrian, since the language barrier ist kind of steep. We do get the occasional person from Switzerland, but that's as exotic as it gets.

This is undoubtedly a stupid question, but ... Do EU Realms feature the same distinctions (PvP, PvE, RP, RP-PvP) that American Realms feature?
That would be wicked, to go Rollin' with my Gnomeboys from the homeland of Tolkien across the pond.

"This is undoubtedly a stupid question, but ... Do EU Realms feature the same distinctions (PvP, PvE, RP, RP-PvP) that American Realms feature?"
Yes they do. EU realms are divided into English, German, French and Spanish groups, with a Russian one coming soon. All languages have all four types of realms, but from what I've heard, Russian realms, at least when the launch, will not have RP and RPPvP realms.
As for the original question, I'm a Swede living in Sweden, but I will be moving to England this fall to attend University.

I'm Scottish but living, for now, in England.
