Despite a scare last April 1 that
Nihilum would disband, the bleeding edge guild
made true on a promise to continue setting world firsts by downing the Twin Eredars
Lady Sacrolash and
Grand Warlock Alythess on April 10, 6:00pm CEST. The Rogue-less 25-man team were able to down the twin bosses, their first "world first" in the new raid instance, despite EU Realms having the first Sunwell Plateau gate open
a day behind the US owing to the time differential. The drops were
Boots of the Forgotten Vanquisher,
Equilibrium Epaulets,
Shiv of Exsanguination,
Sin'dorei Pendant of Conquest, and
Spaulders of the Thalassian Savior.
Although Nihilum didn't seem to bother getting world firsts with the first three bosses
Felmyst,
Kalecgos, and
Brutallus, whom many guilds were able to down on the first day that Sunwell Plateau opened, they seem to be geared towards downing the remaining bosses ahead of everyone else. The second gate blocks Nihilum's progress so far, preventing them from attempting
M'uru. Will Nihilum continue to make
World of Warcraft history? The second gate will probably open in a couple of weeks, so we'll find out soon enough.

I'm going to admit...I was kind of sceptical of the whole "we weren't really trying for the world first on the first bosses thing"...but hey, guess I was wrong!

Good point, the PTR could very well have been different in any number of ways so PTR vs Live is essentially apples and oranges.

Clearly an ignorant troll but I'll bite. Have you even seen irl photos of them? They look physically healthier than the better part of America.
As for trivializing their achievement and the time spent doing it - "Anyone who plays more than me has no life. Anyone who plays less than me is a noob." How does it feel to be a cliché I wonder?
Then again I would have been disappointed if there wasn't a mindless anti-Nihilum flame.

I know it's a bit much to expect logic here. But think about it. Yes, they do spend 24/7 when new content is released to get these bosses down, but guilds like Nihilum and SK Gaming do it very quickly. After that, it's farm time. Most guilds that have all of BT and Hyjal on farm can clear it in two nights, leaving the rest of their weeks to do what they want, leaving plenty of time to be 'normal' human beings.

Actually this would fit well into the guildwatch post but why does this need it's own post? In response to Matthew on comment 2 I don't care but at the same time I actually don't mind seeing them in the occassional (is it weekly?) Guild Watch post especially since those are always fun to read because of the drama section but there is no reason why this needs it's own post on an off day just to pump up the ego's of the guild's members.

I respectfully disagree with those that don't care or think this does not deserve its own post.
I do not raid, I only pvp. I think that a world first is a big event and warrants its own post. I enjoyed reading about it.
On the other hand (no offense intended), its the guild I don't know, on a server I don't know, that downs Prince that I don't care about. Thats why I only search guildwatch for my servers name and then move on.

I agree, this is definitely a sort of 'milestone' for the player community. Well done, Nihilum.
... The only part I don't like is the massive quantity of boring and useless filler on their website. Not every word spoken by one of their Guild members has to have its own column linked from the front page, especially the profanity-laden ranting about how 'dumb' the Sunwell gate system is.
