What we know about Death Knights
Winter is coming: reports have it that WoW's next expansion, Wrath of the Lich King, is in alpha. Wrath will feature a raise in the level cap from 70 to 80, access to the continent of Northrend with ten zones, the new profession of Inscription and, perhaps most exciting of all, WoW's first new class: the Death Knight. This early on, details are still scarce, and Blizzard has been reluctant to release any information about Wrath since Blizzcon 2007. More information will probably leak as the alpha progresses. However, I've put everything we have been able to find out about Death Knights in the gallery below, so come on in to learn what we know.

So we know that we don't know much about them...that is until we know more about them at a later date....got it.

Yeah but it's a known unknown, not an unknown unknown.

They put the information as descriptions to the pictures in the galery.

Heh. Isn't this like the 2nd or 3rd blog basically saying the same thing already?

You'll find that they do that a lot here - and get paid for it too!

It is. However, if you pop by the official forums, you'll find the same questions coming up over and over and over again about the DKs, so it helps to sum up all the info we have every now and then to inform the newer readers.

The note about people threatening to quit over Gnome Death Knights: I will be SO happy to see those people leave. Hopefully they decide to distribute their gold to the populace before they go.
I'm rolling a Gnome Death Knight most certainly.

I agree with you 100%, good riddance to the DKG haters. Gnomes, although kinda creepy at times, are people too!

Damn those guys are slow.

I can believe I wasted 17.88 KB loading up this page.

You can?
Can you really..?

actually the information displayed here is a little outdated. It was stated at (Leipzig maybe? or possibly on the forums I can't remember which) but you won't actually be doing the quest on your main at 55+ you will be doing it when you create the deathknight itself. For a huge stockpile of information visit http://deathknight.info/ we've stockpiled more or less every interesting scrap of WoW news and WotLK news.

Last I heard, Blizz had done away with the quest and the Death Knight was going to be available to anyone who had a level 70ish character. Did they go back to their original plan?
tanek Apr 13th 2008 6:15AM
Darn it. With that opening line, now you just made me think about a Song of Ice and Fire MMO. Want. ;)

Thanks for propagating false information further wowinsider! I look forward to hundreds of official forum posts repeating this ad nauseum.

Sorry, I did my best to verify what I could and state clearly that everything else was rumor. Did I miss something?

There is not a quest to unlock the Death Knight:

Ah, thank you. I had initially read that Neth post as meaning "we lowered the quest level to 55", but I see that you probably have the correct interpretation. Gallery edited accordingly, although it may take a little bit for the changes to show up on the site.

Due to your courteous response and quick correction, I'm going on record stating that I was a total jerk earlier, and could have handled my post more constructively.
