Vote for the best piece of advice!
Last week I asked you to leave a comment with tips of anti-advice you could give to players. Things like "Be sure to move in the flame wreath so you're not cold when the blizzard hits!" or "Just walk up to Archimonde, he won't agro until you hit him." You all responded in force and gave lots of good tips and pieces of advice. Now for fame and no-fortune, lets vote for the best one!I'll close the voting next weekend and announce the winner on Monday April 21st. Vote now! I did!

Unfortunately, my own favourite is not up there...
"Did you know that /gquit prompts you with a confirmation dialogue box now?"
con-man Apr 14th 2008 8:32AM
Yeah I did that /gquit one on my server. I got half a dozen tells shortly after from ppl who dropped guild.
vildand Apr 14th 2008 9:06AM
Haha I'm glad I read the comment on this gquit advice thing, otherwise I'd have missed the only fun thing about this article.

As for the /camp and /afk list thing, those are hilarious. I pulled a variant of that the other day in AV, and told people that if they made a macro to input /afk report on their target, they could report Allies as AFK and get them booted. We lost the AV, but it was hilarious to be in an epic battle, only to see a bunch of us randomly dropping out.

All that AFK-list advice is terrible. I suppose is serves the same function as the "click on this summoning portal that will boot you to IF" in that it filters out the really gullible. Stil even the gullible players might be worth having on your team while those who are commited to afking through an entire AV know all the mindgames.
I remember I once got into this 10 minute fight with some dude who kept harrasing me to do a /afk to check my status and I kept saying "look man, I know that trick, can't fool me nyah nyah" and he wouldn't give up. loser.
jbodar Apr 14th 2008 5:23PM
That's what the Ignore is list is for.

oh god I can't believe i fell for the /camp one!!!
I never knew about it, and I had WoW open on my 2nd screen so instead of checking WoWwiki, I just typed it in, logged out.....ummm.....tried again, did the same! Then I checked WoWwiki, its the same as /logout
Gotta try that on other people....

these bits of advice are all good, but i appreciate the subtlety of the first one.
Carrie Apr 14th 2008 12:50AM
Woo I got one up there! Go whelps!
Tisen Apr 14th 2008 1:21AM
I had to go with BoP since i've seen many a time people do that seriously. Also in my old guild some of the pallys would BoP our raid leader when he went to loot a boss after we'd killed it just to see him stand there and try to figure out what was going on lol. /camp is also great though.
Blackhorn Apr 14th 2008 11:36AM
That would be Divine Intervention, would it not? The one that puts you in a mega-bubble until you manually peel it off?
Arokai Apr 14th 2008 7:00PM
Haha, DI also works, that way you don't end up with a repair bill, while 39 others do. It's good times, I say. However, I probably shouldn't play my pally as my main. I'd get in to much trouble.
Tisen Apr 14th 2008 7:37PM
Ah yes you are right. Sorry I dont play pally.
matt Apr 14th 2008 2:56AM
I've seen raid wipes to tank BoPs. The BoPper claimed it was an accident....
con-man Apr 14th 2008 8:56AM
my friend was dared to BoP the main tank when twin emps was down to 5% He did it and 10 ppl dropped dead right away. Many lol's were had.
con-man Apr 14th 2008 8:57AM

Snailking Apr 14th 2008 5:24AM
