Many realms still down
The saga of the Rampage and Shadowburn (US) battlegroups continues. All realms in those battlegroups have been down since at least 11:00 AM EDT this morning. Blizzard says they're working on it, but so far all we've seen is an ETA given, which was promptly missed -- that ETA was 1:30 EDT. The new word is to expect an update roughly now; I'll be keeping my eye on it and will update this post if there's any news.Once again, the affected US realms are Agamaggan, Alexstrasza, Alleria, Azshara, Baelgun, Balnazzar, Blackhand, Cho'gall, Dark Iron, Destromath, Dethecus, Detheroc, Emerald Dream, Garona, Gorgonnash, Greymane, Gul'dan, Hellscream, Illidan, Kael'thas, Kalecgos, Kirin Tor, Lightninghoof, Maelstrom, Malfurion, Moonrunner, Nazjatar, Ravencrest, Sargeras, Spinebreaker, Staghelm, Stormreaver, Twisting Nether, Ursin, Whisperwind, and Wildhammer.
Zul'Jin is also reportedly down, as well as Burning Legion and Lothar; I'm unsure of the status of the rest of the Ruin and Vindication battlegroups.
Update: It looks like Ruin and Vindication are down in their entirety. Meanwhile, Blizzard updated to let us know they're still working on it, and they expect the Rampage and Shadowburn realms to be up by around 1 PM PDT/4 PM EDT.
Update 2: Apparently the Ruin and Vindication issues are a hardware problem; Blizzard knows about it and expects to have those realms back up by 3 PM PDT/7 PM EDT.

This has been an ongoing problem the last few days =(. Last night the Cyclone Battlegroup had a terrible time staying up. The server crashed while we were looting Magtheridon, and the body despawned. We went to TK, and the server crashed during the 2nd trash pull. I said "screw it", and went to go level my druid in STV, and the server crashed while I was fighting pirates =(.
GG blizz, fix your damn servers.

Arthas went down right after I wiped out a mob of Murlocs. Does this mean when the server comes back up I'll be surrounded by Murlocs?

Yup - same here - All I had left is a 70 on a PVE server... so I went outside instead (15C here)

Illidan was going down both saturday and sunday. It went down at least 2 times on Sunday morning. When viewing the realm list it was the only server down at the time.
The server started to lag horribly, then after a few minutes it completely stopped responding and went down. Totally sounds like hardware. I hope it's the same one, but that doesn't totally make sense since Illidan was the only one affected.

I wonder if this is related to the massive server downings and hiccups on Saturday? We were halfway through curator when the server froze. BLizzard owes our raid for repairs.

Guess WoW wont be down tomorrow since they have been down the whole day today. I love paying money for downtime.

So to follow up on my comments in the Oceanic thread... yet again all we get from Blizzard is "we're working on it." Now, I *ASSUME* they are since, you know, it's their job to keep realms up. But at some point it would be nice (and great service) if they told us WTH was going on and what they were doing to actually prevent this from happening again.
I don't expect perfection, but this far into the life of the game and at a stage when there's not explosive growth but rather steady demand, it's not too much to expect 99% or better uptime (outside of maintenance). Heck, I'd love to know what they need downtime every week for maintenance for! Other large traffic sites (think Google, Yahoo, eBay, AMazon etc) don't go down this much and don't go offline for hours every week. I'm not looking for trade secrets, just some basic info.
/vent over. :P
