Mr. Peanut and his monocle: Bank toon fashion
So you're getting all rich and the gold's started to pour in. You've made lots of wise investments and your arbitrage has been paying off great dividends. You've even got a bank toon to handle all your business -- after all, the rich folk leave all the dirty work to their accountants. Here's a question for you... is your bank toon dressed for the part? See, it just isn't right for your bank toon to run around Stormwind or Orgrimmar in their underwear, no matter how much that delights your inner pervert. Bank toons must be dignified... classy, even. They are the keepers of your wealth, so give them their due by throwing out that ratty Thug Shirt.Fortunately for you, WoW Insider has prepared a simple makeover guide for your bank toon. If you've been treating your banker right, you've probably dressed them in the tuxedo sets made from Tailoring or obtained through the Noblegarden event. Complete the look with a perfectly matching pair of Frayed Shoes. You probably won't find these on the Auction House, but they drop from Level 1-5 mobs, so they shouldn't be a problem to farm. If you're too lazy (or unlucky), you can purchase Heavy Weave Shoes from clothiers in most cities. These also go very well with tuxedo sets but require Level 12. I personally keep my banker at Level 1 too keep her ego in check, so it's the Frayed Shoes for her.
Of course, the truly rich gift their bankers with a pair of Antique Silver Cufflinks, which can be obtained from the lucrative fishing daily quest. Non-anglers can troll the Auction Houses or trade channels for these beauties -- but be prepared to pay a steep price! These simple white items sell for over 11 Gold to vendors, so fishermen won't easily be parted with them. Some people marry their bankers or accountants to make sure the wealth stays within the family... so why not throw in The Rock and Gold Wedding Band to celebrate the influx of Gold? The Rock is an exorbitant gift you can purchase from vendors in Booty Bay, Silvermoon City, or the Exodar for a whopping 100 Gold. Gold Wedding Bands come from those Bags of Fishing Treasures, just like the cufflinks, and sell for 15 Gold to vendor so expect to pay similar if you don't fish.
Of course, if you're not into the whole wedding thing, there are a bunch of alternative rings for your banker to show off their bling. For the neck, you simply have to visit the ineffable Griftah and choose from his wide selection of wondrous accouterments. I would recommend Gritah's Talisman of True Treasure Tracking, available for a reasonable 8 Gold 75 Silver 35 Gold. It never hurts to have amulets that help you find more Gold, after all!
All bankers simply must have an off-hand frill. It's the latest trend in banker fashion. I highly recommend the Gothic and classy Bouquet of Black Roses which can be purchased from herbalism suppliers in Stormwind and Thunder Bluff for a hefty 50 Gold. A single Black Rose can be an equally classy statement, of course, but true connoisseurs know it's only a cheap 50 Silver from those same herb vendors. If you're more into celebrating your riches with a drink like those Dwarves, then might I recommend an Ornate Drinking Stein. This nice silver mug also comes from fishing and sells for 11 Gold to vendors, so players will likely sell it for around that price.
Finally -- and this is important -- no banker's outfit is complete without Mr. Peanut's exemplary eyepiece, the Noble's Monocle. Barring a top hat, the monocle is the ultimate finishing touch any rich banker needs to get the point across. Without a monocle, how can your banker exude class and show off wealth? Monocles are the epitome of high society (or evil geniuses...), so it's imperative that your banker sports one. Again, this comes from the fishing quest (why do you think those guys from Deadliest Catch bother?) and retails for about 11 Gold. Once you have most of these slots filled -- specially the monocle -- your banker should be all set to conquer (or at least enthrall) the financial world of Azeroth.

Also, you need to find some white lvl1 boots so you can enchant them with minor speed increase. I do love my burning fiery lvl1 sword as well.

My Female Gnome bank alt is currently decked out in Brewfest gear, with the Wolpentiger, her Imp, and a Brewfest Keg on the ground next to the mailbox out every time I log on her. Her "weapons" are the Brewfest Stein and the Ornate Drinking Stein.
I get a fair number of inspects.

My bank alt is sporting a red winter's suit and the thigh-high recruits boots that you get from the wandering vendor in the Durnholde Keep instance. Shes also got a 19-pound fish in her offhand.
Maybe if she wasn't an orc, she might look pretty.

My Alliance bank toon on Dragonblight and my Horde bank toon on Zangamarsh are currently dressed in their Lunar Festival dress. Other wise my Alli is in her simple black dress, and my Horde (who by process of elimination) is in her default, level 1 warlock robe.
My Alliance RP bank toon who is also a lock is in her lvl 1 warlock rope.
My husband has his Alliance toon (a male draenie) in the full tux. His Horde (male orc) is in all white, including white wedding dress.

My main bank alt is wearing the Red Winter clothes, another abandoned alt runs around IF in the Lovely Black Dress, and a third is done up in http://www.wowhead.com/?item=3309 http://www.wowhead.com/?item=1501 and http://www.wowhead.com/?item=6201

Additionally my alliance bank has a kitty that follows her around. And my horde bank is barefoot, just because that's how she likes it.

I so thought the deadliest catch link was a youtube link.

My little gnome banker is dressed in the shaman starter outfit. It is green and gold and I thought that fit a character named Dollara. She also has the monocle and the drinking stein. I am looking to replace her boots though - right now she looks like she is barefot. Maybe those thigh highs that someone was talking about would work...
Summer Apr 16th 2008 7:41PM
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=6201 look like thigh highs, drop from a 'rare' in Elywnn that is almost always up.
Pelina Apr 16th 2008 7:48PM
Hmm.. but those are for level 5 and Dollara is stuck at 1. I am thinking maybe these: http://www.wowhead.com/?item=40 They should work too...

see i don't have a bank alt really. I had a priest i abandoned at lvl 8 and made my own guild and i have a guild bank. But she's dressed in neophyte boots, pants, stylish green($$$) shirt and the guild tabard.

When brewfest was in town, I got my Draenei bank alt the dress, the boots and the hat. I swear, I mastered that ram! I was so close to also getting the male suit, but there were issues with people lagging up the server. She also has the stein of beer and a worpletinger. She's so adorable. I also have a few seasonal things such as the lovely black dress (which people ask to buy all.the.time), and for the winter time, I have the christmas outfit with a green holiday shirt.
very tasteful.

Here is a tip for people looking for easy boots.
Roll a warrior, grind 30c from the mobs, walk to mailbox and post warrior starting shoes to your banker. Log and delete warrior. My banker has the tux set, those shoes, and alternates between red rose and some fish offhand!
Sneakstar Apr 16th 2008 10:40PM
The warrior starting shoes are the "recruit boots" also i believe?
harywilke Apr 16th 2008 8:23PM
Exodar on EU-Khadgar is full of well dressed bankers, most sporting tuxedos by Armani.
my bank alt, a fem nelf, has a full tux suit, but lately has been just wearing the shirt and pants, with matching black recruits boots and antique silver cufflinks for that extra bit of class. ofc shes in her own guild
still waiting for the monocle to drop.

I levelled my bank alt to the stately level of 2, cause I got sick of all the exclamations in SW on th minimap so I went and did all those quests on my bank so I could get rid of them. Luckily he is a human warrior so once I got my tux set, he was set on the shoes, I equipped frayed gloves or something like that, they're kinda brown, and don't really match, but until I find some black gloves a level 2 can wear...He's got a tarnished silver ring, and soap on a rope, cause he's a salesman gotta smell good or something. just bought the ornamental drinking stein off the AH for 20g, a bit priccey, but less than 10% of a good day's haul, I picked up a club off of a vendor, and chanted it with +3 wep damage just so I could have a glow, I felt a club was more banker-like, he's gotta protect my investment after all, haven't found a good belt, bracers, or cloak for him yet, and I'm hoping to get a monocle from the fishing daily. Yeah, it's a tad excessive, this game has much in common with the sims I hate to say, but at the same time, it's fun to show off all that wealth by twinking the crap out of a level 2 toon, when I feel the need for a duel I strap on his starter shield which my main levelled enchanting on (+7stam!) and go out front of SW and own the heck outta people a few lvels higher, can't wait till I'm richer so I can put +agil/+stam leg armor on the tux pants (which are level 35...) and then really own in duels.
I assume this post was inspired by the post on the official forums yesterday about hte same topic, and an interesting point was made, Blizz won't restore characters or their items (in the case of a hacked account for instance) unless the toon is level 10, so I might just have to level to 10 just to keep my mobile vault safe and "ressurectable" should something horrible happen.
Pelina Apr 17th 2008 5:57AM
Not true. My husband was hacked and all but his main was deleted from the account. He got all characters back in the end even his little banker at level 1. With her items as well.
Tiforix Apr 16th 2008 9:16PM
I camped Moonglade for months in order to get a formal Dangui for my banker.

SaintStryfe Apr 16th 2008 9:41PM
Medivh's premier seller of crap, Stryfebank is wearing the fashionable Noblegarden dress, and is wearing some delightful silver jewelry (from Cooking and Fishing quests). She is a party girl though - she's never found without her Yellow Brewfest Stein and a Red Sparkler. She occasionally wears a sporty Brewfest hat, but right now is keeping herself looking pretty in peach.
The AH Mule I control for my Guild, CarebearsAHM is much more conservative- with simple Thug Boots, Trapper's Pants, and a Black Swashbuckler's Shirt, plus a guild tabard, but she whistfully is always carrying a red rose.
Ametrine Apr 16th 2008 10:42PM
Tuxedo, monocle... but no tophat or stylish walkingstick? For shame, Blizzard, for shame.
