Gold prices dropping in the US

In the EU, things aren't so clear -- while there are still bumps around content releases, things are holding pretty steadily at a price well below the United States. Either way, no matter what price it is, we should note as well that buying gold from anywhere is against Blizzard's terms of service and will get you banned. Hopefully, these lower prices in WoW mean that Blizzard's attacks on goldsellers are working, and that low demand has driven the price down further than its been in a long time. Even so, and even assuming that these prices actually do correspond to the market (no idea where MMOBux gets their info from), there's not much concrete info we can suss out of this other than the fact that prices are dropping in the US.

Yes, it's inflation in action. Those that believe the economy is balanced between money in = money out, are not seeing the game that I see.
Money in:
- killing mobs
- quest rewards (including dailies)
- non-monetary influx (farmed materials)
Money out:
- repair bills
- any items purchased from NPC vendors
- training costs (buying spells, respec charges)
- auction tax (the 5% cut and/or deposits on expired auctions)
The only money-out item of any great significance is the mounts. You do those once per toon, and that's it. Once you've dropped your 6k+ on riding 0-300, that's no longer a sink.
Yes, you get gear upgrades and have to buff those out. Gem purchases, enchants, etc etc are either farmed (and fall in the money-in category) or purchased from someone who farmed them for you, so the money is still in the economy, just not in your hands anymore.
The comment that repairs equate to dailies is ridiculous. On a bad raid night, I can spend 60g on repairs and spell materials. I can farm 300g/day doing a full round of dailies and still have time to raid. 300g in =/= 60g out. Thus... inflation!
