Naxx will be entry level raid dungeon in WotLK
Bornakk, who apparently looks like Abe Lincoln, has revealed that Naxx will be an "entry level raid dungeon" in Wrath of the Lich King, and EU CM Vaneras adds that unlike Kael'thas (who exists in two places at once ingame), it will be moving whole hog up to Northrend -- the 40 man dungeon that we have now will no longer exist.Very interesting. Unfortunately, we're not quite clear on what "entry level" means -- it seems unlikely that Naxx would be a level 71 dungeon (or that there will be any "raid dungeons" before level 80 at all). And the fact that he uses the word "raid" definitely means it's either 10 or 25man, then, though whether it will be the new Karazhan or Gruul remains to be seen. Bornakk also says that attunement isn't solidified yet -- a lot of players are hoping that all that Argent Dawn rep doesn't go to waste, but he says it's a matter of balancing "special quest lines" with opening up content to many players.
Finally, the Ashbringer gets a mention -- apparently it will be discussed in the next Blizzcast. It's great to finally be hearing some official information about Wrath of the Lich King, vague as it may be. Hopefully there's lots more to come, sooner rather than later.

Nothing new there.

- Tigole confirmed than Naxxramas will be retuned to be 25-man raid instance in Northrend, also he said it will be the first 25 player raid instance in the next expansion. They want as many players as posible to have a chance to see one of the best instances so far. Some encounters will be reworked to adapt them to a 25-man raid.
- Tigole said:
* They have plans to reuse Tier 3 with updated stats
* The Ashbringer story would definitely continue in WotLK
* They're still undecided on Atiesh "

I would like to see my Naxx Attunement honored in the new dungeon. Be it a free portal, no additional attunement chain or a headstart on rep or whatever. Throw us a bone, Blizz!
Treima Apr 17th 2008 2:47PM
Yeah, I thought this had already been said before?
Badger Apr 17th 2008 3:16PM
It has indeed been said before, but there hasn't really been any discussion of the "type" of dungeon Naxx would become. All the rest of the community knew was that it would be present in the new game.

My assumption is that entry level = Karazhan. It's a full-on raid, but you don't need a full set of high level epics to get your toes wet.

I've heard this before, but what I have yet to here is:
What about T3? will it just dissapear? What about T3 skins? will it become T7? Seriously the warrior T3 is still the hottest thing they've designed... I'd hate for it to dissapear.
Treima Apr 17th 2008 2:55PM
I doubt they will remove T3 or its skins from the game. Rather, no one else will be able to get T3 after the move.

If they do continue with the Argent Dawn rep, I hope we don't have to go back to Vanilla WoW to get that up for all of us who haven't done it before.
I have some of it done on my main, but I wasn't a raider back when I was 60, I just did professions, and none of my alts have the rep, so I hope they will give us a chance in Northrend to work on that.

they may do what they did in TBC, there was Cenarion hold from vanilla wow, and then Cenarion Expedition in TBC...Argent Dawn Expedition? lol just a thought
Aaron Apr 17th 2008 2:57PM
Blizz have said before they won't use factions from a previous expansion in a new expansion, much like reputations in vanilla WoW was useless in TBC. So I highly doubt Argent Dawn will have any involvement in the new Naxx, I'm speculating a brother faction similar to Argent Dawn could exist though for attunement requirements.
Tumnus Apr 17th 2008 3:07PM
Agreed. It will likely be a similar situation to the relationship between Cenarion Circle and Expedition

Argent Dusk?
jbodar Apr 17th 2008 4:43PM
Argent Morning Coffee Break
bluenei Apr 17th 2008 5:51PM
argent dawn actually broke up between WoW and WotLK, it became the Scarlet Onslaught and The Silver Hand, these are also two of the three (4 if the explorers league is higher up) supreme factions, along with The Kirin Tor
these are the known factions, and the insances you get rep for them in definately/most likely
The Silver Hand (rep given from IceCrown Citadel)
The Kirin Tor (rep from The Nexus/ all blue dragons)
The Scarlet Onslaught (Naxxaramas, Azjol-Nerub) (If Freindly)
The Explorers League (rep from Uldaar, Wyrmrest Temple)
Valgarde/Warsong Hold (rep posibly from Utgaurd Keep/Drak'Tharon Keep)
note that the list is a speculation of blizzards large list of factions they can add (these are almost certainly going to be in WotLK)

I'm both happy and sad about this news. Having played the game since release I really wanted to see Naxx and have a chance at the legendary caster staff. Sadly I didn't start raiding till about 8 months before the expansion. This will provide us to see an instance that many of us probably never got to and hopefully it will hold some remnants of the past true to form allowing us to see the story and drops that were once there. If Atiesh is removed from the game there will be many sad pandas.

LF39M for Naxx. Have tank. Need more tanks, healers and dps. Must be attuned.
Wolftech Apr 17th 2008 3:14PM
Forget Ashbringer... will Kel'Thuzad still drop The Hungering Cold (or even better, the real Sword of 1000 Truths)
guesswho? Apr 17th 2008 3:17PM
its been said that the t3 models will be reused, forgot where i read that though maybe wowwiki.
Badger Apr 17th 2008 3:23PM
God, I hope so. Those armor sets were the sweetest looking models in the whole game.
