WoW Moviewatch: WoWBeef, Episode 1
There were funny moments to the story, but I found the beginning very repetitive. The voice acting wasn't helped by his microphone either. Also, did he really use his sword to shoot that guy? Well, Mindblade Studios is up to episode 4 and some change already, so I admire their dedication and effort to the medium, however I think they have plenty of room for improvement. Perhaps constructive feedback from the audience would help?
[Thanks, Tobiathin!]

That shooting the person is a reference from, "Dear Sister."

Which itself was a parody of some silly TV series' finale wasn't it?

I have to say that because this is a visual medium, shouldn't the visuals be part of the story? Watch this movie without sound. It's the same emote animation over and over. Then a second character comes in and does the same emote 25 times.
I'm watching it and all I'm hearing is "blablaBlaBLA... blablaBlaBLA... blablaBlaBLA... blablaBlaBLA".. I thought it was a gag at first.
I know it's silly to watch WoW movies without sound, but I do watch them in full soundy glory when I get home from work. And most of them at least tell a visual story too. Illegal Danish, for example, even without sound, does a wonderful job of having their characters emote through movement and variety.
On a positive note though, I loved just how fantastically stupid Lolcrusader looked. Nice touch. And yes, I did turn up my sound enough to see if you were indeed referencing that SNL/OC(?) scene. Nice.

That was not funny... that was a waste of time... why have you made me watch this WI? Do you hate me THAT much... "'I SHALL HAVE MY REVENGE' WOWINSIDER. 'MY ARMY IS ON IT'S WAY!!!!!'"

I can't decide if I'm amused or offended by all the homophobic jokes.

I'm kind of offended, but I figured my lovely commenters would take care of that for me...

This.... thing, isn't even worth the time it would take to criticize it.

Constructive feedback: Stop it right now. Do not make any more of these.

Well, it certainly got a few laughs from me. It's a shame, however, that none of them were intentional.
Furthermore, Blackhorn nailed the description of this film's visual style. This is like ten minutes of a handful of players spamming the same emotes at each other over and over again.
Why does Mr. Jeremiah feel the need to spam his name throughout the opening and closing 'credits?' And what the hell does he mean by 'visual effects' (see previous paragraph)?
Thank you, 'Lolcrusader,' for consuming the resources of my favorite server to craft this appalling, repetitive, unimaginative waste of ten minutes.

I thought it was very, very funny and the whole Clifford bit really caught me off guard which just seemed perfect, like a Monty Python film - it was unexpected humour. Nice.
Only thing that turned me off was the long dialogue with the guard at the beginning. It was funny for a moment, however I believe we could have done without most of the dialogue and moved on from there.

Give me my 9 minutes back, you homophobic person you!

Why do you post bad videos? I'd rather read a column about good videos, not videos I'm supposed to provide "constructive feedback" for...
Silvertusk Apr 17th 2008 8:33PM
I have to say, that sword-gun-kill was entirely unexpected. My favourite part, for sure.
Zedius Apr 18th 2008 7:06PM
Meh, you should watch Episode 4, part 2.
Now that is comedy!
