WoW Moviewatch: Achmed the dead terrorist
Legs, of Destination Unknown fame, is back with an interesting take on an old comedy routine. She used material from Jeff Dunham, a world-renowned ventriloquist, to create a puppet act inside World of Warcraft, or to be more accurate, Model Viewer. She did a great job of getting the emotes down! The original act is available on YouTube, where it has been viewed over 43 million times.

Jeff Dunham is a fantastic comedian. Any work inspired by his is worth a watch at least once.

Wow, that was pretty good! The emotes were down pat. Jeff Dunham is a funny moho and that video was full of win.

The terrorist jokes don't bother me. His Weaksauce brand of comedy on the other hand, does.
Tatiyanna Apr 22nd 2008 1:09PM
@9 His comedy doesn't bother me, your weak sauce brand of replying does.
Just kidding man, it was there and had to take it....
His comedy is pretty good, Peanut and Walter are still the best. But as for this vid. Very well done. A+ to the creator...

I'm sick of this dumb trend in machinima. This thing was garbage. Not because the jokes were bad, but because it was plagiarized.
He took the audio track from a popular video and added some repetitive wow emotes. Why is this a notable accomplishment? Is it funnier because it's done in WoW? Not at all. In fact part of the humor of the original was the puppet's facial expressions.
When dumb shit like this gets featured on WCM it's an insult to those who actually work hard and create their own content. Popular machinima has been reduced to the following formula:
1. Steal popular audio track
2. Fraps some basic WoW movements
3. ????
4. Profit
Now I'm off to make my movie. It's going to be a night elf spamming /talk with a George Carlin routine playing.
A million downloads here I come.

Wow, I agree with you one thousand percent. I have always been ticked off that some of the most popular WoW videos would have never been 1/10000th as popular if not for the ripped-off source track - one of the worst offenders is "The Internet is for Porn", originally from Avenue Q, an awesome musical. So some guy rips off the track and cuts some characters emoting to it - instant hit? WTF? Turn off the sound and then see how exciting the film is. I have much more admiration for people who actually take the time and effort to come up with original music and/or story lines and dialogue for their machinima - after all, when you make a machinima you are ALREADY 'ripping off' the basic visuals from the game - add any other elements that you didn't create yourself and what have you really contributed as a filmmaker? You're just an editor. Maybe that's all some people aspire to. But it still bugs me that you can re-edit other people's hard work and get massive e-fame for doing so. :P

;p fantastic... the movements pretty much went perfectly with the words of Jeff Dunham... Everyone loves Jeff Dunham. Unless they're stupid with no sense of humor of course.
Treima Apr 22nd 2008 5:21PM
If not thinking that was funny makes me stupid, I will proudly wear the village idiot dunce cap for a day.
