I have a cast sequence macro for soloing.PW:Shield, Holy Fire, SW:Pain, Smite (i add more smites for higher level mobs), ShootI do this every time I'm soloing one non caster mob. I'm holy btw. This usually gets em down to 1/2 health or better and by the time PWS wears off they are dead, or close to it, and my mana is back up to 80-90%. So since I don't use PWS for every pull in an instance it is MORE of a solo tool for me than a group tool.

Yeah, I use it LESS in instances by a long shot. Tanks hate it because they don't get rage (paladins want to get healed for mana). It's great for giving you a second to save noob mages that want to bring fiery wrath upon the untanked mob.

Sounds a lot like my rotation, but I prefer to get the Holy Fire and SW:P off before tossing up my shield, just to get a few extra seconds out of it (and possibly be able to save mana by reusing the shield on the next pull.) For mobs with enough HP that it takes more than 2-3 Smites to take them down, I like to hit them with Mind Blast for my second-to-last attack and finish them off with SW:Death.

typobox i do the shield first to save the time of a global cooldown in the middle of combat as it gets me outside the 5 second rule sooner so my mana gets fuller faster. Every bit counts imo.As for SWD i don't use that as it resets the mana regen. And since i have spirit tap (I solo a lot) i want to be outside the 5 second rule at the end of a fight. I guess I'm patient enough to allow my wand and SWP to finish off mobs so that i have no down time.

It's a common misunderstanding, so I won't really fault you on it, but the mana you gain from Spirit Tap is the same regardless of whether you're in the 5SR or not. Sure, you get double the amount of mana when you're outside the 5SR, but half of that is from your normal regen that you would have gotten with Spirit Tap or not.Once you have both Meditation and Spirit Tap, though. It actually works out so that you're better off in the 5SR during Spirit Tap than out. The regen from Spirit Tap and Meditation stack, so Mediation actually makes Spirit Tap return 60% more mana when you're in the 5SR than out. You'll still gain more overall mana in that time when outside the 5SR, but your bonus mana from Spirit Tap is actually lessened.

Acceptable Risk.....this is something I would like to know:Please tell me how 80% mana regen from double spirit is greater than 100% mana regen from double spirit?inside the FSR Spirit tap does double your spirit and from that mana regen from spirit, but it also cuts it in half so just effectively negating the FSR, but that's it. From that alone, you just effectively have 100% of your regen from spirit. Add in Meditation and that will give you another 60% of your normal regen for a combined 60% of normal regen. However, outside the FSR, Meditation doesn't apply at all and you receive ALL of your mana regen from the double spirit from Spirit tap. This netss you 200% of your mana regen when not inside the FSR.so, please, tell me how it's advantageous to have less mana regen? How is 160% of normal more than 200% of normal?
