What are you looking forward to the most in WotLK?
There have been lots of little bits of news and information coming out about Wrath of the Lich King lately. With the World Wide Invitational 2008 just around the corner where WotLK will be playable again for us all, and the news that Wrath is in alpha, we can expect to see more and more come out about the game. With this expectation of the beta and eventual release building, a lot of people are getting excited about different things. So I want to know, what are you most excited about?
For me, I'm most excited about seeing the new end game raid content. I'm with a very dedicated group of raiders right now who do about 20 hours a week of raiding, and it's a lot of fun. Hopefully we'll all still be around in WotLK and get to push into the new content quickly and with a lot of zeal.
Then there is the Death Knight. Who isn't thrilled at the chance to play a new class? We haven't ever seen a new class in WoW, and it's bound to throw a wrench in the way a lot of folks play the game. Seeing the Death Knight get integrated into raiding will be a very interesting thing to watch.
Another obvious bit that people are really enthralled with are the new zones and leveling that'll be happen. While I can't say that I'm too thrilled to have to level my rapidly growing army of 70's up to level 80, I think I'll have a good time doing it at least once.
Finally, and perhaps most importantly in the long run, will be the new talent trees. I can only imagine what the next tier of talents are going to look like. I'm hopeful that within the next couple of months we'll start to see what these talents will be, and that will dictate (in a very big way) how the rest of the game will change for us.
Let's take a poll! What are you most excited about in WotLK?
| Level 80 | |
|---|---|
| New raids | |
| Death Knight | |
| New hairstyles | |
| New dances | |
| Siege warfare | |
| Why do I care? I'm level 20. | |
| New talents |

Order of the Knights of the Silver Hand isn't even an option to vote for?
To the Twisting Nether with you.

Didn't you guys do this topic before?

Level 80 seems the best...at least for me. My highest toon is a 48 and the new level cap sort of evens out the playing field. QQ

I'm looking forward to the "back to basics" fantasy idea they have been bragging about, while i loved the sci-fi aspect of the burning crusade, I like the look of wrath.
I also like the lore as it seems to involve paladins as in the "kights of the silver hand" storyline that seems to be there in parts of Northrend, seeing as i play a paladin i think i just want the title of "...of the Silver Hand". And seeing Arthas.
Also Dragonblight, as i always loved the lore behind the dragons of Warcraft
Also MOAR TROLLS!

indeed. i'm hoping it returns to the old style magic and iron setting of azeroth. pre BC style was / still is far more interesting to me than some prancing about alien hippies. :)

New Talents in the Talent trees!
Jason Apr 26th 2008 9:21PM
From what i've read, there are no new talents, aside from what may come as balancing.
We are just getting 10 more talent points is all.

I'm all about the new talents, and the new abilities and roles this will grant different classes.

I started playing fairly recently, so hitting 70 has been pretty daunting. I hit 70 a few days ago, and since then I've already been insulted by a groupmate for having some green items thrown in with my other hard-earned honor PVP items (i was told that I should have stayed at level 69 until I had full 300 resilience when i hit 70 .. this was in an instance context, by the way, so wtf) , and it feels like the gear gap, if I wanted to try raiding, is insurmountable at this point. So I voted for "level 80" .. because it gives those of us that started late a chance to jump into some of the content that is currently off-limits for us. It's still tough starting a MMORPG late, and I hope that everyone who already has elite gear will be a little more open-minded and generous when it comes to newer players who may not have had the time to farm 200k honor before hitting 70.

If you think now is hard, Vanilla WoW was much harder. There was really no casual epics, not a lot for the casual player. Entry raid was Molten Core/Onyxia - both 40 man raids, now we have Karazhan, dailies, rep etc to get gear. It's still daunting now, but we've come quite a way. Expect it to be better in Wrath too.

Yeah, I realize it's a lot better with all the PVP epics. It still takes time, though, and I realize that assholes will be assholes no matter what. If there were no PVP epics, starting out as a new 70 right now would be really tough. as it is, the blue PVP set from being honored at thrallmar, sha'tar, Lower City, etc. was really great for an immediate upgrade at 70 + spending my honor on weapons and such.

I'm looking forward to an expansion where the devs don't mail it in for the Shamans.
What? Why are you giggling?
Beyond that, I'm mostly looking forward to the return to fantasy. I liked the sci-fi for a while, but now I am sick of space elves and starships.
Vendrill Apr 27th 2008 1:36PM
I'm sure that Blizz will fokk us worse than they ever have b4.
Jason Apr 26th 2008 8:30PM
Neither of the above mentioned. I look forward to returning to the medieval game. Back to the original Warcraft atmosphere and ambients.
NO Star trek nonsense.
Buman Apr 26th 2008 10:34PM
THANK YOU. I'm tired of being in freaking space.
Todd Apr 27th 2008 1:07AM
Yeah I hate the Outlands. I can't wait to be able to take a zeppelin to the new place and not be forced to keep my hearth stone in the new place or face buying a port or making the trek all the way through the portal.
Smaug Apr 27th 2008 3:22AM
Exacly,
once I enter the Northend I want to say WoW! .... not WTF?! like I did in BC. What worries me a little bit is the snowy and depressed look - I hope that devs will manage to make every zone interesting and unique like they did till now.
Linnea Apr 27th 2008 6:45AM
YES!!!
I'm so tired of all the pink stuff floating around!
E Apr 26th 2008 8:30PM
Oh! And as a casual player with only one toon above 40, I'm looking forward to the DKs just so I can have a viable alt. That's worth my $30 right there.
bendak Apr 27th 2008 8:38AM
Sorry to burst your bubble but you will need at least one character at level 80 to get a Deathknight.
