WoW Moviewatch: MC-Addicts 3
While there's no plot to speak of, MC3 has some really nice imagery. Done right, sometimes that's all you need. I just have one question for Bullshitmaster. Why did so many innocent cows have to die?

That was... mesmerizing.

Why is it that random wow fans produce more detailed zones and better models than the multi million dollar _team_ of blizzard developers? Zangerelwin looks absolutely stunning and should be in the game. Make blizzards work look like garbage...
However, im not surprised..

I dont know if they are better, but they are awesome. The only gripe i had was the texture repeating in the river canyon with the two statues. Otherwise it was beautiful. Very good music too.
You have to remember though, Blizzard makes a game that millions can play (on their crappy computers at that), these guys make a zone purely for looks. No worry about 'too many polygons' and stuff like that.

Those ARE Blizzard models... They're just sticking one zone's textures and doodads on another zone and putting some filters on it.

for most of them, at least. a couple of those were made from scratch, it seems, but like people said the quality dipped when they did that - the walls looked like crap in the LOTR canyon.

In many ways it's harder to craft something from scratch than to re-jig someone else's work. Blizzard have the additional concern of making a playable, functional world - the Machinima guys just want to experiment, and all power to them for doing so.
My favourite part was the perverse sight of a Tauren assisting in bovinecide.

hey thank you for posting our video :)
yes, some areas are just "areachanges", that means we only changed the textures and models, but some others are completely new, for example the argonath canyon or the crystalsong forest.
