Holy Paladin! A 3,000 team/personal rating

While many people enjoy Arena play, for both fun and gear, some teams really stand out from the crowd. DonLolo z Wladem, a 2v2 team from Burning Legion EU has topped the arena charts with a 3,000 team rating. Not only does this team have no need to worry about rating requirements for Season four gear, but they will have plenty of arena points to spend once it is released. This rating yields 1,140 points per week at the 2v2 level.
The team is led by Noksil a Human Paladin. Noksil is the first player to reach a 3,000 personal rating. The build for this mighty combatant consists of 44 points in holy and 17 points in Protection. This build reflects the versatility of hybrid classes in DPS and healing. The team roster also contains two Subtly Rogues: Mnius with a personal rating of 2,883 and Tatus; who carries a rating of 1965 for the 15 games he's completed this season on the team.
Congratulations DonLolo z Wladem. Welcome to the Arena Hall of Fame.

Because it's a better choice than Improved Devotion Aura, which you are not going to be using in the arena, and, frankly, is a pretty crap talent to begin with. On the other hand, if you're a healadin, there's a good chance you're carrying a shield to begin with, so Redoubt probably will be a help to your survival.

Also, you can't block while casting. So, unless you're just running around, or meleeing, block-buffing talents won't help you as much as a constant 6% damage reduction, which applies not only to melee, but to spell and ranged damage as well.

Win Trading is too common for kids or low lifes with plenty of time. All you need is more than 1 team with scrubs and have the teams queue up at the same time. If your main team don't face the win trading team, then you leave arena and take no loss in points. Then pretty soon you will face your alt team and you make a quick kill, rinse and repeat.
I highly doubt a rogue/Pally can pass 1700 with the gear and build spec they have. They have no chance against full S3 farming teams with BT weapons.

There is also Silnoreki not mentionned in the article, he's was teaming a lot with Noksil a few times ago

they are just good pvpers, don't call them cheaters..

They win-traded. A Kara-geared shadowstep daggers rogue and a holy paladin are not going to hit a whopping 3000 in 2v2. You keep defending them which makes me assume you're associated with them in some way.
Diaz Apr 29th 2008 11:41AM
If you take a glance over at the wow europe site you will see this is the second team this guy has win-traded up. Apparently he has been reported on multiple occasions and is very well know for win-trading.

GotNoClue Apr 29th 2008 12:12PM
I was clearly joking... :|
My english has a big margin of improvement but at least i suspect that the average reader knows less then 10 words from my language so I still have an edge over you english only guys ;)
veikos Apr 29th 2008 12:02PM
WoWInsider should really stop posting PvP articles..
GotNoClue Apr 29th 2008 12:09PM
On the second thought about this post she's clearly not joking..
I'm quite offended by the total lack of any criticism about the news that she reads over the internet..
l2post on an international gaming blog!
Maybe it's just me expecting too much from this site, I should look for another site ;)

Congrats Noksil, you gigantic loser... only matched, by your partner.

I thought it was a good post. Whether it was win trading or not, it is still a significant achievement. Hopefully it will bring more attention to win traders if that is what's going on here.
As far as what Amanda said was that the paladin is a hybrid class, not a hybrid talent build. Perhaps the team does have some skill, there's no way to tell one way or the other. That's for blizzard to decide. If you know these players are win trading, then report them.
shiplore Apr 29th 2008 1:17PM
according to posters, it took 3 days to go from >1800 to 3000 how is that a significant achievement? What exactly makes that worth of any sort of notoriety? Best cheaters? Grats I guess?
MechChef Apr 29th 2008 12:57PM
This makes me want to exploit the system....
Anyway, just hating through. Carry on.

Lulz! WinTraders FTL.. Grats "Vengeful Gladiator Cheaters" these guys have been the talk of the EU Bloodlust forums since they topped sk-gaming.com/arena/ ladders comments here are epic:

Funny how the person who wrote the article is clueless unless the whole article is on a sarcastic note?! I doubt it though..

It's pretty hard for anyone to know what's going on in every server, especially if you don't play there. Even in the servers I play on, I don't know anything about the arena status and who trades wins for what and how I get some S3 gear.
shiplore Apr 29th 2008 1:13PM
But Amanda you CONGRATULATE THEM and never even broach the subject of win-trading. I have to agree 100% with Dave. Please please don't call what you're doing "reporting" if you must you can 'gossip' but if you're not going to fact-check, confirm independently or put into context then you are not reporting.
Treima Apr 29th 2008 1:19PM
I don't know what's more shameful: that these win traders have been so successful at what they do, or that Amanda's journalistic standards disappeared in making this article. I mean, if you couldn't figure out that they're obviously win traders, you didn't do any sort of investigation. When a team gets a ranking THAT high, aren't you at least curious what spec/gear they're running?
If you did know they are win traders and didn't say anything about it, that's just bad form. That means you wrote the article to mislead instead of inform, a tactic reserved to lowly folks like tabloid writers and political spin doctors.
Either way, this article is just an example of what's at stake if Blizzard doesn't curb win trading straight away.

this is why blogging has the reputation of being the realm of slightly obese nearsighted people hunting an pecking at their iMacs and weepy middle aged women with too many cats and half full melting pint of ice cream on the table next to them.
it takes no skill, it takes no education, it takes no integrity and therefore offers no substance.
this one is so obviously something that should have been checked a bit it makes me die a little inside that the author didn't even bother.
i'm expect idiocy in my blogging. so i'm not terribly surprised. but i am a little shocked at the total lack of fact checking.
being a blogger doesn't excuse you from being factual.
Goodguy Apr 29th 2008 2:49PM
Hi, Goodguy here.
I went to burning legion, made a human pally (female, rrrrrrrrrrr) and started to look for information on this.
I talked quite a bit about this with fellas in his (former) guild. Anyway, long story short: he is a wintrader 150%. Although I doubt that anyone thought that he is just so skilled : o
