WoW Insider Show Episode 35: Definitely penguin pets
On the show with me this past Saturday was John Patricelli (not Petricelli as I've been saying lately -- sorry again, BBB), Zach Yonzon, and Turpster, and the discussion went all over the place. As promised, we were able to sneak in a little bit of PvP talk (and just a smattering of Warsong Gulch arguing, unfortunately), as well as all the other biggest issues from the last week of Warcraft:- We talked about the just-released patch 2.4.2 notes, as well as the undocumented changes, and what struck us from each.
- We took a look at this (revealed to be old) Wrath screenshots and why we expected them to be real.
- Zach commented on the Season 4 ratings and requirements, and let us know why he thought Blizzard was raising the bar in the Arenas.
- And we answered lots of reader email, including what we want to see in the Wrath collector's edition (we can haz penguin pets, please?), what listeners think about all the information that Blizzard has on us, and a couple more Warcraft jokes from last week.
Update: Turpster reminds me that there was supposed to be a poll in this post, but we already did one. Go answer that one, and let us know what you're looking forward to in WotLK.

Schramm, there was never a OPEN beta for BC, it was always on a invite basis.
Open means anyone can join, but all the way up to the end you had to get a special code from somewhere to join it. This makes it a CLOSED beta.

I sure thought that by the end, the beta client was available for public download. But maybe I'm wrong about that, I'll take your word for it.

Listening to the podcast now Mike. You said you would do your darndest to put a poll up about what people are most interested in getting information on for WOTLK. Perhaps this is done elsewhere?

well, let me now post this in the correct area (have only browsed by before and posted a comment in the wrong area)...
For those wondering why the warrior was upset about getting ripped on a tanking trinket is that as Prot Wars, all we can do is tank. While some people have the time to make enough money to persistently respec, many don't. The mage gets to operate equally as well for PvP and 5 and 10 man content. Prot Wars have one role. We don't get to run over and PvP without considerable cost, our dedication is to the group/raid. What really pisses us off is that our worth is completely determined by our gear. DPSers and even healers to a degree, are given much more lenience in gear. So, when there is a valuable piece of tanking gear, its important to us to maintain and increase our viability. That's why we get pissed. I would love for Blizz to reduce our dependency on gear. I really do, but until they change that, gear is paramount to us.

Are you at the wrong topic again?

Do you guys read what has been released about Wrath?
The change of main hands to one hands is almost certainly a precursor to Death Knights who are going to be a DW tanking class.
If the mount "enchant" thing is truly coming, Pallies and Warlocks will get their mount spells inscripted with the bonus.
