Nihilum's live stream postponed
Some of you may be excited about Nihilum's live stream of a Sunwell Plateau raid, which was scheduled for today at 1 PM EDT. I know I was looking forward to it about it. However, sad news -- it's been delayed, so we'll have to wait a little bit longer to see how the cutting edge of WoW raiding does things. The reason for this delay is the opening of the new gate; I imagine they want a chance to try M'uru first before fighting him (her? it?) live in front of the world. Tentatively, the new date for the event will be in one week, May 7, but that could well change. Stay tuned for more updates. The event itself remains the same. You'll be able to pick from four streams to follow -- Kungen (prot warrior), Darmor (fire mage), Johnnyr (holy paladin), and Buzzkil (destruction 'lock). The stream is supported by Xfire, so their software may be necessary to view it; Nihilum haven't been quite clear on that yet. I hope not, because it doesn't look like there's a Mac version. By the way, it looks like Nihilum is recruiting. So if you're a holy priest, resto shaman, holy paladin, BM hunter, or destruction Warlock on the European realms with some T6 gear, preferably Sunwell experience, and a desire to raid more than is probably healthy, click on over to apply.

Any info on what we will hear? Are we in Nihilum's voice chat as well, because that would be the ultimate. I want to hear the coordination, preparation, and call outs just as much if not more than the video stream. I could even watch a full screen combat log and listen and probably learn a lot. Any information would be appreciated

It would have been much more interesting seeing how they deal with a first time encounter. Ah well, I'm not watching either way :P I don't see why there is so much hype behind watching raids, go do it yourself. And yes, I realise some people are in slow progressing guilds, I am too.

They are actually not using voice chat for raid leading (unless it has changed recently). Their ventrilo is just a bunch of them chatting and the leading is done by Kungen via keyboard.

I think it's pretty neat that Nihilum want to open themselves up to the community this way and show them how they handle a Raid from start to finish.
At the same time, I don't really see why it's necessary. I would almost expect each Guild to have its own style, its own unique approach to Raiding, rather than trying to copy the best-publicized Guild that Raided before them.

Who says people have to copy it. It's an interesting thing to watch, that's quite enough.

Yeah ... My bad, Warcloud, the previous post was poorly worded. Watching a high-level Raid would be entertaining, at least.

Cutting edge? You guys have been having a few too many dwarven ales if you honestly believe that, they make it look easy not because they're actually any good it's that they've done these raids enough time to know every little thing from the casting frequency of a boss's spells to the pattern of the patrols and that is farm from the same as being good.

"Gear is not a deciding factor... What matters the most is how you write your application."
"don't apply without having tier 6 though"
Could you contradict yourself a bit more perhaps?
Really I couldn't care less how they do recruitment and good luck to them with the live feed, I love the idea of spectator gaming. But seriously, who are you trying to kid with the 'gear isn't that important' line?!

Contradiction? Not really, its to filter out all the people who would expect to be geared up to tier6, either from SSC/TK loot or even full Kara gear. Basically, "have t6 and/or equivalent gear, missing a HJ/BT upgrade here and there won't kill your chances."
They want the applicant to be able to hop into one of their raids and be competitive. :)
