Children's Week begins today
Today's the first day of May, and that means that Children's Week has begun. All kinds of little snot-nosed orphans are out there begging for you to run them around Azeroth and show them the sights, and in return they'll give you one of the richest treasures in all of WoW -- a cute little noncombat pet. There's a nice Children's Week guide up over at WarcraftPets, and we've done our share of orphan touristing around here at WoW Insider. This year will be no exception -- stay tuned all week for posts about what may have changed in Azeroth for the holiday, and don't forget that this Sunday, our in-game guild on Zangarmarsh will be running around the orphans all together.Of course, it may not be the best thing for Azerothian orphans to be running around with all you wacky player characters, but they've got to get out of the orphanage at some point, right? Go do it for the kids this week!

FYI it will take about an hour to do the shat. version with an epic flyer (alliance). Pretty easy and fun! Last year I was only level 20 so I'm glad I hung around.

I don't want a pet. I want to adopt.
I want a Squire with bagspace. IE portable, summonable bank alt.

I always enjoyed taking the orphans into the battlegrounds.
Teach them at a young age what the world is all about.. Kill or be Killed.

Do you have to be a certain level to do the quest and is it repeatable? Can you get all the pets??
Unagieater May 1st 2008 2:03PM
You must be level 10 to do the Azeroth Version, and level 60 to do the outland version. It is repeatable, but only once a year. It will take 3 years to get all the pets.

I abused my orphan as a joke, and many where well receptive to

JPN May 1st 2008 2:07PM
Can I take mine to Quel'Danas to do my dailies for me?
OK, maybe just the non-combat ones?
Theadrick May 1st 2008 2:22PM
Anything updated/new for Children's Week this year?
BigRedPimp May 1st 2008 3:57PM
Seems they changed one of the quests to involve L7ETC, at least on Horde side.
Pelouze May 1st 2008 2:27PM
You can also use the pet biscuits on them to make them grow to about 8' tall. Did ZA last night with my giant orphan. They look like something out of children of the damned when they are giant-sized

Pictures. Please.
Rudolphe May 1st 2008 2:32PM
i wish you could keep the children as non combat pets. I'd love to raid with a little kid by my side lol
matt May 1st 2008 2:37PM
It looks like they removed one of the sights. Last year you had to take them to 4 different places.
Rich May 1st 2008 2:43PM
I am just impressed on how fast those suckers can run!
Being an orphan must make you into an Olympic class Track and Field runner!
Unagieater May 1st 2008 3:06PM
I got Egbert an Speedy.
Also, I managed to do both Azeroth and Outland quests (Horde) In about an hour /played. I took breaks and blew my hearth (Shatt) like 4 times though.
C. E. Croix May 1st 2008 3:10PM
There is a difference with the TBC quest hordeside this year. Since M'uru and Liadrin are not in Silvermoon anymore, you take the orphan to see the Tauren Chieftains instead.
hjungle May 1st 2008 3:23PM
Kind of a let down, isn't it?
"Well, I was going to take you to see this incredible being made of pure energy who's magic has granted us wonderful powers, but for some reason he went nuts and flew off. Instead I'm going to show you a cow-man. Hey, wait, where're you going?"
zappo May 1st 2008 3:52PM
@hjungle
Well at least the Tauren Chieftains will wave back to you and pose when you blow them kisses.
I don't trust the Naru anyway. In most science fiction shows "beings of light" always turn out to be evil. It's a trap!
