New M'uru items datamined
In the wake of SK-Gaming's world-first kill of the Sunwell Plateau boss M'uru, World of Raids has checked out the data files and found some other items that they're pretty sure are on M'uru's loot table. You can also see information on these items, and other new items as they are discovered, on Wowhead's new additions page, a handy resource. Pictured is the one-handed sword Muramasa, which looks pretty bad-ass if you ask me.For this and the rest of the items, I've made a gallery containing the tooltips with all the stats, and the item models when appropriate. However, M'uru's loot table seems to consist mostly of rings and trinkets, so there's not much to show for those besides the tooltips themselves. I don't mind -- I'll drool just as much over stats as over an item's appearance. Click on, fellow stat geeks!

Just a comment on the resilience items:
In 2.4, Blizzard moved towards making PvP much more open: they instigated the Arena .5 honor sets, they made PvP gear buyable by tier tokens, they allowed players to enter AV by party (though not by raid. That *was* 2.4, right?). The reason, in my view, is that as the game slows down and people are stuck waiting for WotLK, PvE is unchanging and static. This means that it will become boring. By making these easy outlets into the world of PvP, I think Blizzard is aiming at making sure PvE players stay in the game, by giving them another option of playstyle. By that line of thinking, the resilience items added in 2.4, as well as the Arena .5 sets, are basically a way for players, whose gear is made for PvE, to get into the PvP game easily without the "great, now i need to honor grind to get any PvP gear at all" feeling. The Mu'ru items and tokens-for-PvP-gear items are specifically aimed at players who, after conquering the PvE game, may want to try the PvP game. At the same time, the Arena .5 gear is specifically for players who may level alts to 70, but don't want to go through the hassle of re-gearing for raiding. Who wants that? No one. So now, they can jump straight into the PvP game at 70 with just a few short rep grinds. 2.4 was the "make sure we have the tools to keep players playing" patch befre WotLK.

What is so special about Muramasa?
Charlie Taylor May 4th 2008 9:47PM
He was a Japanese swordsmith of fame, produced some of the best blades ever made in historic japan.
I was really hoping they would model it after a katana. :/
kr3wman May 4th 2008 10:08PM
But a twisted, evil, void-of-any-kind-of-mercy-looking-katana. That would be better than http://www.wowhead.com/?item=2801
Kaljin May 5th 2008 1:30AM
It should have been a pimped out Blademaster katana.
happydragon May 8th 2008 3:12AM
no thats masamune, muramasa was masamunes rival who made an evil one
Angus May 5th 2008 9:38AM
It does kinda look like something I would see in FFX though...
There's almost always a muramasa in any of the Final Fantasies
(reference to all the people that commented on it)

@happydragon
No, Muramasa and Masamune lived in completely different time periods. So they were never rivals. Also the 'evilness' attributed to Muramasa blades came about because Tokugawa Ieyasu forbade his warriors from wearing them, as he had "lost too many family and friends to Muramasa blades."

That ring isn't too bad for a feral either.
P.S. The Mag Head and Kara rewards are stacked with armor:

Triumph? Dominance? These are the names of the PvP Honor Items. Pretty sure these are probably s4 and not dropped by a crazy hard boss like M'uru
Dacool561 May 5th 2008 8:12AM

Has anyone else picked up on the wearing-plate-but-mostly-bare lady in the background of a lot of these images?
A previous gallery featured her too.
Either way, nice touch, horny guy at worldofraids.com
