Exodus gets US-first M'uru kill
Hot on the heels of SK-Gaming's world-first kill of M'uru, the penultimate Sunwell Plateau boss, the US guild Exodus has scored a place in the hall of records by being the first in the region to kick his Naaru butt, early this morning. Exodus live on Kel'thuzad, Horde-side, and apparently just got sponsored a few days ago, which endowed them with a brand-new website and plenty of bandwidth just in time.
If you want to see one of their players' personal thoughts on the fight, you can check it out on their forum (NSFW language).Apparently it was a nine-hour attempt (!), and they used six healers, four tanks, and 15 DPS, in case you were wondering. Edit: looks like that entire thread was a parody of a Nihilum thread about their Eredar Twins kill. I shouldn't post before I've had my coffee. One of the items that dropped for them was something we figured M'uru had, and is in my gallery from yesterday (Sin'dorei Band of Dominance), but the rest of them were not on that list: Harness of Carnal Instinct, Garments of Serene Shores, and Robes of Faltered Light. Congrats to Exodus!

Wow! Great job, guys. Nice drops to boot. I was beginning to think the loot table on M'uru was pretty crappy.

nice shaman armor.
gj on the kill.
Bastinator May 6th 2008 11:14AM
I think M'uru's loot contains most of the new chest pieces that aren't from trash/random other bosses, in addition to the trinkets/etc.

GZ to them but from that fourm post that guild seem like a bunch of total A%*£holes
Silverrealm May 6th 2008 11:28AM
9 hours!??!?! Geez!
Nice being a first at it... but yeah ... 9 HOURS!?!?!?!!!
Boadie May 6th 2008 11:34AM
Yeah, as a raider, that thread and the nihilum thread linked in it make me sad that these guys have to be such massive douchebags...
but then I guess 9 hour attempts will do that to ya....

Exodus and Vodka seem to be having a contest over who can be the biggest douchebags in the US. So far, Exodus is winning, but Vodka's not far behind. You should log onto their servers every now and then and just sit in trade chat. It's never long before one of their members starts stroking themselves on how great they are and how everyone else sucks. I've never seen its equal from other end-game guilds.

The Exodus post is actually a tongue-in-cheek parody of Kungen's post about Nihilum's World First on the Eredar Twins.

Also, hilarious.

That post on the Exodus forums wasn't funny at all. It wasn't tongue in cheek, he hardly changed anything and what he did change was just a few cheap jabs that a five year old could have made. All the fanbois applauding it on the Exodus forums were hilarious.

Just like the Nihilum members and their fanboys.

I dont get why some of you are upset at the Exodus post. Nihilum started with the cocky posts, all Exodus did was make fun of it. I think BOTH of them are just having fun (you know because WoW is a game), not trying to start any fights or make anybody mad.

That's cool for them, but secretly I hope their guild falls apart. They're all a bunch of asshole douchebags. Kaywarrior being the biggest douche of them all. But I suppose thats the kind of behavior from people that would spend 9 hours on 1 interweb monster just to try and be one of the first.

Look, people, relax a bit. Sit back and try to appreciate the humour here.
I don't know these people and i dont know the nihilum people. But i do know 2 things:
1 The kungen post about twins seems a bit strange and a strange series of events that a primary raiding guild hardly has any dps people online when a gate opens. But it could be true, weirder stuff has happened.
2 The post this guy makes is a pretty solid attempt at humour. You may not find it funny, but that is your opinion. At least it is better than the sad mudslinging we see from nihilum haters and lovers that followed in the threat.
So grats i guess on a kill. Try to keep a sense of scale and humour.
I never hope for any guild to fall apart in drama and anger.
So above all remember to have fun and enjoy the game.

Is no one else pondering the BDSM lifestyle loot that dropped?
Ya.. I'm really bored at work its been a slow day.

Just more content that most of us will never ever see...../sigh

I'm in love with the fact they just royally pissed on Nihilum. They could've exercised some more tact, and executed the parody with more fashion than just a few more swear words.. But seeing a bunch of fanboys go to war brings a smile to my face.
Unfortunately, after that initial glory it all becomes just a little bit sad. Arrogance and racism, coupled with 'national pride' all rolled into one just makes it all a sad state of affairs..

The world first belongs to SK ... first is the only prize ... 2nd - nth is useless .. noone cares that you came second .. if that's the position you race for .. good for you.
SK got the win, were congratulated by Nihilum (graciously), and targets were reset (Kil'Jaeden now) ... It still took Exodus 2-3 whole days longer than SK ... which, if you're trying to fly a flag to show how brilliant you are ... is not very good at all.
