What, you mean like wow.curse.com, wowace.com, wowinterface.com, etc, etc? These sites are just as prone to/protected from down-time and viruses as any other site. They don't require registration and don't charge a fee for their addons. Depending on which site(s) the authors of addons use, those sites will have up-to-date versions of the addons as well. Promising something that already exists (the never-down part is impossible to promise, and the up-to-date addons part is only possible to promise if you keep addon authors locked up in your corporate dungeons or something) doesn't strike me as a good way to end an article.

Anyhow...end of rant.
Other than the last paragraph, good write-up! :)
