No, you don't. You can go straight into 25 man if you can field the people. It's not needed to finish it with 10 man first.

I love the idea! I play the same game as you, I want to see all content to. I just don't have the time or guild a raider has, so this is a perfect solution. And who cares if you kill the Lich King with 10 people? Gruul is also being killed with 10 people, if though it's supposed to take 25... I don't hear anyone complaining about that.
