It seems that now were just going to have a bunch of people running around bragging that they beat Illidan (or Arthas) before everyone else because they only did the 10 man, while the "hard core" group of people will be a step behind. So how hard are these 10 mans really going to be?

As I understand it, there is absolutely no requirement to do the 10-man raids before the 25-man raids. You don't need to split up your finely tuned 25-man team for smaller, entry-level raids. And the smaller guilds have a chance at seeing end-game content. I think that's how they intend it to work.
They're the same instances in name only, but I think a 25-man raid downing a boss of the same name still counts way more significantly than a 10-man group.

No one will care who gets the first 10man kill of a boss. Everyone will still be paying attention to the 25man progression. Dont worry raiders, your uber status will be preserved.
