This makes absolute sense for Blizzard and for the players. Look, I'll give you that 10 mans are easier. That those doing 25-mans on the whole are more elite players. I'll even go as far as to say they deserve better loot, loot that is respective of thier status as the best players. But locking off content by ability is not a good idea. It's crazy. Surely anyone that's ever worked in any creative industry must have felt bad for the guys that did the graphics work and encounter design on Naxx and to a lesser extent Sunwell 25. All that work, all that effort, all that brilliant design, only seen by a miniscule proportion of your potential audience. It might have been the best thing ever designed, but few got to see it.Obviously there's a degree of coolness in being amongst the elite few that did get to see such sights, but in no way does that compare to how sucky it makes things for everyone else. There's a completely rubbish arguement people throw around with the badge loot / arena / welfare epics arguement. It goes "I pay the same for the game as you so should be entitled to the same uber loot, even if I suck or play a lot less". It's rubbish, because in the game, gear is a reward for ability. But the same arguement is exactly right when it comes to content, we're all paying the same for the content, it should be as widely accessible as possible, without trivialising it entirely.
