GameSpy speaks with Jeff Kaplan about Wrath of the Lich King
In addition to all the other info dropping today (apparently Blizzard held an event this last week at their HQ to show off some new Wrath information), GameSpy got to chat with Jeff Kaplan, WoW's Lead Designer, about Death Knights and what they're going to be for in the next expansion.- Apparently Kaplan says Blizzard has designed "zero" raid bosses for the next expansion yet, so he isn't sure where they'll fit among Pallies, Druids, and Warriors as tanks.
- DKs will have a disease-based DoT, as well as the creature and ghoul summons we've posted about previously
- As we heard before, Death Knights will serve as a "Fury Warrior" type of tank -- damage based rather than protection based.
- Blizzard hasn't determined exactly whether there will be faction differences in the epic class quests, but they won't be too different for races or factions, just because the stories, he says, should be the same
- Finally, Kaplan clarifies again that Death Knights will be available to all races, and that Arthas himself became not Undead, but Scourge

Not really to much information we didn't already know about the death knight. But any news is good news I guess. :) Kinda disappointed to hear that alot of stuff is still in the design phase or just concept sketches (No raid bosses have been designed :oO

My lore face is going to be super depressed when i see tauren Death knights. 10% more health, Warstomp and a dark evil malevolent cow punching me in the face. I really wish they would have kept it to humans and undead.

More depressing than the cow punch in the face will be the Low blow a pink pigtailed gnome death knight deals with their annoying voices :o/

why would your "lore face" be said because of that? really if you look at the lore you can see that all races can and be raised as the scourge (Elves and humans for example). and to be pretty honest from a lore stand point, i would think arthas wouldn't want to be race specific, but more along the lines of who was an excellent *insert class here* and could serve him well in death
also it's only 5% stamina now for taurens. and i would be more annoyed with night elves as deathknights as shadowmeld is annoying on warriors (SM, charge >.

@Psychosis
Because Death Knights are fallen Paladins according to Lore, not just any random undead person. And besides, notice that only humans are undead in wow. I think I've seen a Dark Iron skin as Undead once, the same with a Leper Gnome(and Night Elf with Sylvanas), but there's been no precedent for Scourge Tauren. Tauren haven't had a presence in Lordaeron, Northern, or even the entire Eastern Kingdoms. Doesn't fit.

@RogueJedi
Roll an undead (if you don't have a horde character)
Walk to the Undercity
Go the Apothacarium
Go to the lab
Viola, undead Tauren.

You seem to have missed the most "interesting" info: We've got finally a definite starting level for the DK: 55. http://www.getbuffed.com/getbuffed/news/blizzard-unveils-new-details-about-wrath-of-the-lich-king/?action=view&unid=575
I haven't checked the gamesspy articles yet, but the German and the English webpage buffed.de / getbuffed.com pretty much confirm that.
