I am say fishing can make me a lot of money, even more than dailies for two reasons:

1) I am PvE holy specced priests and killing even a squirell makes me problems, so doing some daily quets takes time.

2) Me and my very good friends are the only active fishermen/cookers on our realm on horde side. Others just slack hard ;)
Usually we discuss for what price we sell fish/food today and we own the auctions :P

I decided to level up my fishing together with cooking a week or two ago, while i was already lvl 70 for ages. 0->375 both proffesions in 5 days, usually doing it in the morning and then after raid for a while (well yes i was ill that week and stayed at home so i had a lot of time to do such things but still i must say it went very quickly)
