We may not be the best guild in the world, but we hold our own at 38th on our Server. We are a casual raiding guild, and pretty much anyone is aloud to join. Whether or not you raid with us is a different story. Leaving things open for anyone to join a guild lets that guild see what a person really has, as opposed to just what they put on an application. When it comes down to it, there are only 25 of us raiding Hyjal, and we get to pick and choose those from the large number of people that make up the guild that we love so much.
Point is, IMHO there is more to it than just the application, there are certain things that can only be learned by playing with a person.
