Breakfast Topic: Goals before Wrath

Last week on the podcast (which will be posted later today, and is pretty good, if I say so myself), Turpster informed us that he's gotten up to level 61 on his Shadow Priest that he started a while ago. His goal is to make it all the way to 70 by Wrath of the Lich King, which means he and I are in an informal race at this point -- my Hunter is currently 64 and I'm aiming to hit 70 by the expansion as well.Unfortunately, we have no idea when the expansion will drop. If you're the optimistic type, yesterday's BlizzCon announcement might have hinted to you that the expansion will come out before the big event in Anaheim, which means we'll be in Northrend before October. I'm not so optimistic -- I'm still thinking we won't see Wrath until right before the holidays, and Blizzard being Blizzard, probably delayed until January again.
But either way, you've got at least a few months, so what are your major goals before the expansion hits? Going to level a character, get a certain Arena rating, or do every Heroic? Aiming to get your mount, still, or have a goal with your guild to finish Sunwell before all the new content shows up? What are you aiming to do before going to see Arthas?

Well, I've always wanted to get a healer to level 70, since I already have a tank and DPS class. So I might try and get my 29 pally up to 70.

knucker, i'll race you. I currently have a 31, very infrequently played priest. :-)
other than that i have to low 60's chars i'd also like to be at 68+ before lich... aah the life of a casual player. :-)

i'd just like to add, that in a recent interview that the 1up legendary thread podcast did with blizzard, they aluded to the fact that there would be a 2.3-a-like patch for all the BC content.. that would hit before WotLK that will make levelling much easier 60-70. Good news for all us altaholics?

Mine would be to get my other 9 alts to 70. But who am I kidding? That won't happen before WoTLK comes out lol.

I want to have 10k+ gold before then. I'm at 3k now and 10 should be easy to hit with the new Isle quests. I'm also trying to level a pally up, but dont know if I will get to 70 before wrath hits.

Get my 42 Pali to 70 and tank a little and Get all epics on my main rogue.

Finish T5 content at least.
Guild is geared enough to do it, but lacks the co-ordination and the commitment. Casual raiding rears it's ugly head when 10 people show up for Magtheridon.

same goals for me but im prolly gonna get into one of them hardcore guilds so i can get to see this stuff. maybe getting into SWP too but i dont really care about that. shouldnt be that hard with the shaman im should have at 70 in a week or so
good news? all raids will have 10mans in wrath so i wont have to be AS hardcore

I rerolled horde a few months ago. Currently have a 70 druid and a 54 warlock.
I've level every other class besides mages, shamans and rogues past 50 so I think I'm gonna give rogues a try this time around (I miss weapons!).
As mentioned before on wowinsider, WotLK is the PERFECT time to switch mains. I don't expect wrath for months and months, so I'm gonna try and finish my lock up and level my rogue high enough to determine if he is a suitable character!

well, I've had several goals that i set, one was level one of each class to 70 (couldnt do it, got bored on shaman at 60, rogue at 63, priest at 61, hunter at 62)
so i set a different goal, one of each spec pally to 70 (completed :D) and get an epic flyer (my ret pally has the epic engineering flyer) so now i am working on my warrior, getting him geared up in pvp (just got my pvp mace the other day)

Well I resently got me epic flying so thats off of the list of things to do.
Now I have to leavel my shamy to 70 and hopefully make it into sunwell atleast once :p

-Get my Hand of A'dal title. This should be doable.
-Get two pieces of t5 set for the two-piece bonus. It's fantastic for hunters.
I'm also stockpiling as much gold as I can, but I don't have a target in mind.

full T5. I want my angel wings and sparkly rogue-ish hood! Anything more is completely unrealistic. We're still working on Mag.

I'm hoping to get my hunter to 70, which is currently level 37 at the minute, so still a bit of work to do on it. Also, if I have time, gather some money from the dailies available to go towards an epic flying mount for northrend :D

Get a flyer for my warlock alt (have the cash but still need to do the final quest for epic ground).
Get epic flightform for my resto druid.
After I blow 6000g on all that, run even more dailies until I'm blue in the face to fatten my wallet for the xpac.
And finally, horde a massive amount of ore and mats to powerlevel my DK to 300 in blacksmithing and engineering.

Defiantly want my Legendary Bow before wrath, make leveling so much cheaper and I wont have to make runs back and forth for bag space issues nearly as much. I am in a position to do such, being in one of the 10 guilds that have killed M'uru, just lets hope the drop rate isn't absolutely terrible for a instance that has limited time before expansion.

I rolled a Tauren Warrior a month ago on a pvp server that I want to get to 70. I have a priest and a rogue at 70 right now. They're both alliance on non-pvp servers, so I figured I'd try something completely different. Currently at level 49, so I figure I have a fair chance of making it to 70 by the end of July at least.
