Tauren weapons unshrunk

Reader Veras was nice enough to point out to us that as of the 2.4.2 release, Tauren two-hand weapons have returned to normal size as planned. It seems to me that this got fixed fairly quicker than other size issues that Blizzard has had. We still have no idea how their code works (and what they're changing that causes all of these weird issues), but at least they're getting better at fixing things.
Of course, as any Tauren Fury Warrior will tell you, it's not the size of your two-hand weapon -- it's how you use it. Contract fulfilled.

99/100 fury warriors use 2x one handed, which is a bit dodgy in that context if you ask me :S

My staff doesn't look like a toothpick anymore. Too bad no one ever sees it though since i'm always either a bear or a cat.

Don't suppose there's any chance they will fix the ground level doors to the UC elevators so that a Tauren riding a Kodo will fit though :(

YES. Also, my troll on her raptor doesn't fit through that door either. I once paged a GM about it (because I could swear it wasn't always like that...) and I got the usual "We'll look into it" response.

Ah, the old weapon-size double-entendre. Never gets old.

Er, have you seen female human's weapons?
My warrior's Cataclysm's Edge is twice it's sheathed size! >_>
Ametrine May 14th 2008 3:16PM
I expand to twice my "sheathed" size when held by a woman also.

Wow Ametrine.... just.... wow.

Ametrine, why dwell on the small changes?
Beldoro May 14th 2008 3:48PM
My friend wanted an example of a double entendre, so I gave her one.

Seriously, they need to fix the huge sizes of the unsheathed weapons wielded by human females. If we have to wear plate bikinis, at least make our weapons proportionate in size.

just in time. my fresh (as of friday) 70 warrior just picked up Glaive of the Pit, and that thing is a MONSTER. on my tauren's back, it extends from the ground to about 4 feet above his head. beautiful.
i LOVE that i have an item held by a paltry few in-game, and making it enormous at all times just helps add to the cool factor.

It's kinda nice to see that Blizzard followed up on their promise in response to the long threads by us moo'ing types on the forums.
The size reduction, aside from being silly in the first place, induced more clipping than it resolved. I, for one, was very glad to see my hunter's welfare axe back to it's previous non-tail-clipping glory.
Nethaera, the forum CM, did as she said and related the concern that the change had caused to the art department/devs/whoever. Just goes to show that being civil and rational on the forums in explaining displeasure with a Blizzard decision can actually work.
