Boy, is it hot in here, or is it just my SHIELD THAT BREATHES FIRE!?
Name: Dragonheart Flameshield (Wowhead, Thottbot, Wowarsenal)
Type: Epic Shield
Armor: 4872 (122 Block)
Abilities:
The droprate is 14% on this one, which isn't bad, and the fact that this is strictly a damage-dealing caster shield means you probably shouldn't have too much trouble claiming it. Pallies and Shamans might do a little fighting over it, but if you go a few runs and don't pick it up, at least you'll have enough badges to grab one of the other shields available.
Getting Rid of It: Sells for 7g, 30s, 15c, and disenchants into a Void Crystal. Careful while disenchanting it, though -- you don't want to get BURNED!

- +19 Stamina, +21 Intellect, which pushes this shield a little bit more than usual towards PvP.
- Increases damage and healing by up to 23. Which ain't bad. There are lots of better shields out there, but for where this drops (it's late Karazhan gear), that's a respectable amount of SD.
- +7 mana per 5 seconds, which is where this shield really shines. It's a very nice shield for elemental Shamans, and Paladins and Resto Shamans can use it also, as long as they've got beefed up stats in other areas. Again, this is husky loot -- if you're working up to Black Temple, it will get replaced. But any elemental Shammy using the Crystal Pulse Shield should be happy to see this one drop.
- Did we mention it breathes fire?!
- Also, we probably can't mention this shield without mentioning the Mazthoril Honor Shield -- they share a skin (with fire) and basic stats besides the mp5. Either one is a great shield, and we could just as well have done the MHS here this week. And healers around this level should check out the Light-Bearer's Faith Shield as well -- both it and MHS are badge gear. If you're a caster farming Kara and the Heroics, you've got lots and lots of shields to choose from.

Definitely a nice shield for Elemental Shamans. There's also a great alternative for anyone still waiting for it to drop. The Sunward Crest is available from the Shattered Shun Offensive at the exalted level, so you can solo your way to it in about 3 weeks. :)

On my holy pally, I picked this up, not because I'm a shockadin, and not because I wanted to use it, but it breathes FRICKEN FIRE! Obviously, I wouldnt roll against an ele shammy who needed it, but our kara runs are basically badge farms atm, to fill raid days between 25 mans.
Also, the badge shield for healers is fairly nice, but the healing shield from chess is probably a little better, http://www.wowhead.com/?item=28754 It's a trade off between raw +healing and mp5, but mp5 is SO important in longer fights, and it has a little higher stamina (A dead healer can't heal so well...)

I picked this up as the only shaman in the raid and I use it in my healing set most of the time because I love the look of it. Who needs stats when you look awesome?

The original, pre-release notes on this one-of-a-kind item included the following:

Requires Level 70
Requires Exalted with Strongbadia
Equip: Increased Number of Mans to 125/250.
Equip: Increases damage against Peasants / Peons by 1 Bajillion.
Equip: Increases damage against Thatched Roof Cottages by 1 Bajillion.
Equip: Restores 7 Awesome per 5 sec.
Chance on Hit: Target will be Arrowed, speeding movement but causing flailing of arms and legs.
Chance on Hit: Target will be Sworded, halting movement and bleeding to death.

Honestly, it is a nice shield for elemental Shamans, but its lack of spell crit actually works against dps and mana regen (do to clearcasting) The 7mp5 is probably more than enough to make up for that (in terms of mana regen) but as a better overall shield I'd recommend Mazthoril Honor Shield from the Shatt badge loot vendor. It's only 33 badges and well worth it. =)

I picked one of these up on my tankadin a long time ago for grinding/threat gear. That and its just a cool shield that nobody wanted. Now aday I use the Shattered Sun SD shield, but I still have the Dragonheart just because its cool.

Looks like I need to get my shaman in Kara so I can get her this shield, looks great and had good stats, much better than the Neltharaku shield that I got from finishing the Zuluhed the Whacked quest.

In addition, the Mazthoril one is a much better choice for ele shammys. If you're already that far in Kara, obtaining badges for that one shouldnt be very hard.
