So, My guild started with 10 raiders in all blues, greens, a few S1 epics, with the intent on getting Kara cleared, bringing in more raiders, getting 2-3 groups going, and moving on. It took us 6 weeks to get kara on farm status after numerous wipes, repair bills, but we got there. Herein lies the problem. About half of the original group wont help get a second group going because they dont want to deal with "undergeared noobs". They only want to run the l33t group for the badges and screw the rest.
The original plan had been for the "leet" group to split into 2 five mans as the core for the 2 new "training" groups. Then conceivably we would be farming within 3-4 weeks. Then we would be able to pug some experience for 25 man content.
Hell No. "I dont want the repair bill", "I dont feel like training people", "lets just farm it and let the second group fend for themselves", "he is undergeared", "he DPS's for shit",,,blah..blah..blah. Weve already lost a few of the original group to T5/6 raiders because a few people are too "good" with their elitist attitudes (since when does T4 make you leet...I didnt think so....theyrs just effin lazy and dont remember that just 3 months ago they were in greens).
Regardless, one night we lost a member (our premier DPS Lock) because it was his intent to fill out the group with an uber leet fully T6 geared DPS PUG warrior instead of a Rogue or Warrior guildie who had been recruited to raid but who had been waiting patiently for a spot for weeks. The lock lost.
On a side note, anyone who is going to run a "casual" raiding guild is in for a rude awakening....there is no such thing.
