Death Knight talents revealed
DeathKnight.info has posted, and our independent sources confirm, a first look at the current state of the Death Knight talents. These come covered in caveats, most especially that they're from the Friends & Family Alpha and will almost certainly change in the coming months, and that this is only the two deepest tiers of talents. However, if you're as desperate for this sort of information as I am, you won't mind. Let's get right into it.For some of you, this may be considered spoilers, so in case you don't want to see the talents, I've placed them after the jump. If you do want to see, click on!
Update: Blizzard has asked us to remove the information.
Talent information has been removed at Blizzard's request.

You're sure you won't have a Blizzard employee sending you any kind of email like they did with mmo champion and world of raids to take this stuff down because of the nda?
Cremean May 20th 2008 1:08PM
Seems horribly complicated in text form, IMO.

(In before NDA) Man, those talents and spells sound nice. Now to make the all-important decision of what my alliance server's DK will be: gnome for hilarity or Draenei for presence?
Gillean May 20th 2008 1:37PM
i'm debating on that too. But a human instead of Draenei since Draenei seem to peace-loving to me. But the hilarity of a gnome death knight with pink pigtails IS enticing.
ninjasuperspy May 20th 2008 2:00PM
@ Gillean: I tried the Pink Pigtails Fury Warrior thing and just couldn't take myself seriously enough... Maybe that is an idea whose time has come with the DeathKnight, though there will probably be a lot of them.
That armor looks wicked though, I have to say. Textures have taken quite a jump since the olden days. I don't care if the guy at DeathKnight.info calls it the "sissy" Arthas, I'd kill for those pants with the book on them (or is that the belt?).

Be a gnome for the rataspect or draenei ?
joke: -damn I died so stupid in BG yesterday...
-How is that?
-I slipped on a gnome!

So apparently death knights are getting death coil. Yeah that about seals the deal for me, onward to death knight.
Eliah Hecht May 20th 2008 1:13PM
It's going to be Warcraft III death coil: heals undead, hurts others, no fear effect. This is confirmed somewhere that I can't remember exactly right now.
Kal May 20th 2008 1:19PM
Deathchill can't be the DK's aoe tanking ability; it has a 60 second cooldown. It might be nice to grab mobs early, but it can't sustain threat.
Taxis May 20th 2008 7:26PM
There is going to be more. Frost is supposed to be the DK's cc tree...
Urthona May 20th 2008 1:26PM
At least there was a modification to D&D. Instead of the headless chicken Fear we all know, the new D&D DK fear is a root.
Can't wait. Can't wait. Can't wait.

Zooooh My Gawd...
Warlocks are getting the Metamorphasis spell to to turn into demons (according to that wiki site linked in the article) 45 second duration, 5 min CD.
I am so stoked!
Zarzuur May 20th 2008 1:40PM
"Behold the power... of the demon within!"

"I like Bladed Armor a lot as something of an answer to the problem of tank soloing -- I just hope warriors get something similar."
Sure.
...and can Shamans get a Feign Death
...and can rogues get a Faerie Fire
...and can mages get an Innervate
What is the problem with allows classes to be unique unto themselves? Personally I wish Blizzard would have never crossed Paladins and Shamans but where would our society be without cheese and whine.

I think it's possible to give all classes and specs the ability to solo effectively without homogenizing them too much. If Blizzard can't come up with a way to do it, they're not the brilliant designers I think they are.

I still dont know if the DK will use real spells, and if their damage is based over SP with some AP-SP scaling,or if directly based on AP,or simply based on their SP from their gear.
Other similar hybrids, shamans and pallys, have shown that a meelee with caster needs doesnt work very well, due to stat requirements.Remember all the fuzz from Ret pallys not getting any Resil on the old S1 and S2 sets?
Still, the DK looks nice and i am probably gona want to try it atleast, maybe on a private server when aviable but i dont think il be going back to wow,ive found a better poison.Age of Conan.

Swarm of DK gnomes, I thought gnome warriors were bad enough. Can’t see DK Tauren either, love Tauren but it just doesn’t seem to fit. They should limit the races to Orc, Forsaken, Blood Elf, Human, Dwarf, Dranei.
Spiff May 20th 2008 1:31PM
What, wait... the character models for the death knights are EXACTLY the same as a normal character... like, no grey skin/green glowing eyes, no "undeath" per se...
Yeah, good job Blizzard.
Daimon May 20th 2008 2:49PM
you read my mind, is absurd having a normal skin char when the DK are...............DEAD??
