Mass bannings strike Glider users
We've gotten more tips on this than any other topic in recent memory: apparently many users of the popular WoW botting program Glider have been hit with the ban hammer, including some of our very own readers. You may recall Glider as the company with whom Blizzard is currently embroiled in a lawsuit (does the word "embroil" have any use other than lawsuits?). The Glider forums are abuzz with comments and complaints, to which I can only reply "QQ." Botting is clearly against the EULA, the spirit of the game, and the best interests of the other players. Yes, I would be sad if I got banned, but honestly, anyone who was botting had it coming.
There are various objections to be made to this stance. Most of the people who wrote in claim to have been botting in order to bypass the tedious leveling process. I agree that it can be boring to level 1–70 multiple times, even with the new, faster 20–60 process. However, that doesn't make it OK to cheat. Others claim that with fewer bots in the system, the supply of primals will be reduced and therefore the price will go up; I'm not much of a WoW economist, so I'll leave that to others. But to this blogger, banning botters can only be interpreted as a good thing: some cheaters got what they deserved. Whether you agree or disagree, please feel free to sound off in the comments. And if you are a botter yourself, and haven't gotten banned yet, I'd advise you to stop -- they're clearly getting serious about this.

I still made an argument Ubergoi.
Unlike you. Who just dicided to flame me.
You do seem quite moral and on Blizzards side with all this.
I honestly think you are jealous of Botters tbh.
Yuh they may farm the same nodes/plants/mobs etc.
'Oh well', get on with your game!
Like I said, Botters are paying to not play.
Yuh we may pay to be 'cheated' out of the above, but thats what this game is about.
Competition.
Rivalry.
Etc.
Don't like how some people play(or not play as the case were)?
Go cry to mummy.
Numbnuts.

When it comes to grinding motes or anything else, I have a theory that there are a limited supply per hour (or other time interval).
This means that if you grind in a heavily farmed area, then the drop rate is poor. Often if I'm alone the drop rate is good but when busy, I can go for 10 minutes or more without a drop.
Still, this does not demonstrate that it's caused by botting, just a comment on how extensive farming is bad for ppl who are just farming motes for a recipe or something.

I bot, and survided the May Banwave.
The ban wave eliminated all my botting competition, and now I have the BEST farming spots all to MYSELF.
I've made 45k gold in the past month botting, alone and peacefully.
I've fucked up the primal prices on the AH hahahha and I'm RICH RICH RICH!!!
Seriously, it's allowed me to get the new epic bags on my main and I'm going to collect 100k gold and sell half of it, for loads of RL Cash.
BOTTING FTW!!!!!!
All legit players grinding, hating it, missing out and not getting free cash!!!

@99 amasing so much you know of the botting process xD
well anyhows, ive never been bothered by a bot b4 Oo, actually i find it rather fun to nuke em as they go about their way, and bots are on BOTH sides of the bg so i just think of it as a random handicap, so no real dice there..
and one thing more...to all the folks out there bitching about not being able to get money for epic mount?
...learn how ah works and get skinning :D best money making proffesion ever %/&/ primals, on my serv i can sell 20 knothide leather for 20g's and some pre bc skins go for the same price... lol
all in all if u know how to play, bots never bother u really..... so stop blaming others for u suxing.
on the count of botters getting the boot?
well they obiusly deserve it, it IS against the rules, and there's no justification for breaking them, but on the other side, the justification for NOT botting are at best pretty vague
and who can blame folks for wanting to experience the intire game even when they dont have time?
ps. all u folks cursing and swearing at bots... stop swearing start aguementing, anything else is moronic

bot should = ban, plain and simple. funny that glider even costs money monthly to cheat at playing a game you pay monthly FOR you. what happens at 70? not liek you're going to be invited on any raids, you can'tplay your class from having computer do it for you. time to farm them primals! have to be the guy with the most gold!! dis sum gangsta shiot fuu! tym 2 tak ovah! that's the only real outcome you can have other than playing that 70 logn enough to figure out how to use the abilities the right way...ending up that you should have just leveled yourself to begin with.
brother pays monthly to use glider for that very reason...to be the guy with all the gold. he's on his 3rd acct now, can't seem to get past 60 before being banned lol
