I think the main issue I have with this argument is that when you talk about having to grind through the so-called "dead" parts of the game "virtually alone" you're missing one of the big reasons for this problem. Those parts of the game are only dead because people bot through them instead of actually playing. Without bots as an option, I would think that there will be a greater ability to find others to play with, as you won't be futilely trying to group with a load of bots. If alts and new users can't effectively 'skip' low level content, their best option will be to become engaged and play through it, so ideally this could improve the low level experience for users.
